Strengths: incredible selection of tools, everything works smoothly and effectively
Weaknesses: tools made from plastic, would be nice if I didn't have to buy drill bits separately
Summary: I moved into my first house not that long ago, and I needed a good set of reliable tools to help me out with a wide variety of household projects. Since I bought these July 4th weekend, I've used the circular saw, drill, and sander to build a nice bookcase and install some chair railing and crown molding. As a hobby, I build wooden ships, and I've used the jig saw to rough out bulkheads and other portions without trouble. The flashlight is bright with a great wide beam perfect for scrounging in the attic or power loss. Haven't used the reciprocating saw or the vac. yet, but it seems like it packs a fairly decent punch.

The batteries hold a charge and remain effective for prolonged use. By the time I've drained one, the other's recharged and ready for use. The kit includes blades for the various saws as well as a nice bonus. Plus, the laser level on the circular saw makes cutting a snap.

This is the first set of power tools I've owned. I've used Black & Decker and Dewalt before. I'd prefer a metal case to the plastic of these, but it's a strong, durable plastic so its not really much of an issue. Given the price difference, the power of the 18-volt batteries and overall usefulness of this set, I couldn't be happier.

Strengths: One Battery fits all
Weaknesses: Build can be better.
Summary: The cost for the set is pretty amazing considering the number of tools you get in the set. The 2 batteries are compatible with all the tools. SO technically you can build a good tool set around these batteries. The work time you get out of each battery is average.Definitely not the best choice for a contractor. Probably can be a very good house warming gift. The build can be definitely be better ,but is more than adequate for the average house owner.

Strengths: Price ,Compatibility with other tools having the same battery. 2 Batteries
Weaknesses: Tools can be more sturdy
Summary: 2007-01-30 17:08:20 Tool set is very convenient to use. Set comes with 2 batteries. Tools set will not last with everyday use. Ry obi quality has improved over the years. The batteries seem to hold the charge for quite some time. This could be because of the new battery.Set does not come with bits. A lot of tools for a very decent money. Pretty handy for the weekend projects.

Strengths: Price, durability, convenience
Weaknesses: Length of charge on circular saw
Summary: I own a complete set of Ryobi cordless products and have been very pleased with their products. I know that higher quality products can be purchase for a higher price, but these are great for the home workshop. The quality is great and product are durable. My only complaint is the work time available on the circular saw, this could be better based on what I have seen on other manufacturers.

Strengths: good value, one+system is very handy, good balance on drill
Weaknesses: doesn't seem as rugged as the more expensive "contractor" grade power tools, isn't easy to center drill bits in the keyless chuck
Summary: This set is really nice and convenient--the one+ system is great, easy to switch out batteries, this combo pack comes with two batteries that charge in an hour. The tools are very functional--maybe not the TOP quality, but good enough for everyday use (not if you're a contractor). Everything works as it should. Ditto on the magnetic base of the drill--that's very handy. I had problems centering drill bits in the chuck--they seem to go off-orbit so that they don't drill perfectly circular.

Strengths: Ease of use. Sturdiness of Product. Price for Quality. Overall performance
Weaknesses: Blade storage department on jig saw does not hold normal size blades; it will only hold the smallest of blades.
Summary: Wow! What a product. I was so excited to purchase this combo set, and I have not been disappointed in the least. It is a truly awesome set of tools for the not-every-day kind of uses. I am a weekend warrior when it comes to working with tools, and so far, this has been a great set to own.

I would definitely recommend this set of tools!!!
