Not a bad player if you pay under $80
Strengths: Sound, large 16:9 screen, includes battery, charger and aux cable
Weaknesses: Picture quality, no bag/straps for car seats, a little bulky, battery very heavy, only has brightness control (or maybe I haven't found others yet?)
Summary: I got this player for about $80 after rebate; for this price I am satisfied, although I did not feel it was a huge bargain. I was afraid that the speakers on this unit will be low quality ones that have tinny sound that's similar to my laptop's speakers, but the sound is surprisingly rich, coming from such a small unit. The loudness level is sufficient, although I would have liked a even louder maximum level to compensate for the road noise when doing interstate cruising. The picture quality is another story. I used a real-character movie to test the LCD; I am not quite happy with the resolution, because I can almost see the large grains in areas that are supposed to be crisp and clear. In my case, the edge of the character's furry cap shows up very badly.
The battery is very bulky. It is almost half the size of the unit, and it is almost as heavy. The car AC adapter eliminates the battery, but it is really not quite portable on its own. Then again, for $80, it's proably as good as it gets.
