Strengths: Very quickly heats water to a temperature that is capable of making good hot tea by the cup. Much quicker, and easier than using a microwave. Great for the office!
Weaknesses: Another appliance on the counter - but this is one that I actually use several times a day.
Summary: Inexpensive solution to quickly heating water to a hot enough temperature to brew a single cup of tea. Sleek "clean design" is acceptable addition to the office kitchenette area. Could use the hot water for instant coffee, soup, oatmeal, etc. Not too tall, but enough room to accommodate a 16 oz. ceramic mug, yet the curved sides make it stable enough to use Styrofoam cups.

Strengths: Fast, efficient, great for tea.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: Great to make one serving of hot water to brew a cup of tea. Water is ready in less than a minute and shuts off by itself. Fast, and the water tastes fresh - no off flavor as with other electrical heating devices.

Strengths: Faster than using microwave, lasts for years with daily use
Weaknesses: You must fully empty the water reservoir each time it is used, to avoid mineral buildup.
Summary: Our 20-year old Hot Shot is on its last legs. My husband and I have babied it along the last few years by cleaning it of mineral deposits and urging it not to let us down. As we have used the Hot Shot every day for at least 2 decades, we consider it necessary to our way of life! It couldn't be simpler than lifting the lid, pouring in the desired amount of water, and pressing the heat lever. The dispenser makes noise as it heats up and when finished, the water is ready for dispensing into your mug. We have taken the Hot Shot on camping trips and given it as gifts. I could not recommend it more highly!

Strengths: Hot water quickly. Right size. Very realible.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I've been using the Sunbeam Hot Shot Water Dispenser for many years. I'm on the third one. They never wear out, I just upgrade for the newer, cleaner look.

Strengths: Very fast. Takes little space.
Weaknesses: Sometimes when I'm ready to dispense, I forget which button/lever to push. Prominent label would help.
Sometimes no lid is in the way for pouring water in. The lid attachment is not particularly stro
Summary: I have had one for years and find it very useful.
My parents use the one I gave them all the time to make tea.
I just bought another to give as a gift.
A very handy product. How about some more exciting colors?

Strengths: Quick and easy, love the convenience no more tea kettles!
Weaknesses: Did not like the warning sign stuck over the top of the unit, had to take a long time to clean it off.
Summary: The sunbeam hot shot is a staple in our kitchen. The kids like it for their hot chocolate, it's easy and safe. I really like the convenience of the product and am glad to get rid of my tea pot. This item is a must in any kitchen.

Strengths: Heats water fast and is easy to use
Weaknesses: local availablity
Summary: We love this item. I have one at home, my daughter has one in her dorm room, and I just ordered one for my son for his dorm room. They don't take up much room, work fast, and are easy to use and clean. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Strengths: It continues to do what is expected - year in and year out!
Weaknesses: No off switch. Must unplug if started unintentionally.
Summary: Have used present unit near 10 years. Sent one to son at college. It simply works - making water hot for a shot of instant coffee, tea etc. We preheat water to kick start boiling water for pasta as well as soup and other such needs. Will buy as gift item often. Love it...threw our Tea kettle away years ago. I'll bet the savings on heating old teapot method has paid for HotShot many Xs over!
