GE Spacemaker 75300 CD Player - Cheap but Adequate
Strengths: Inexpensive, nice sleek stylish look, easy to install.
Weaknesses: Radio tuner is not great, cd player tray is fragile.
Summary: For $60 out-the-door at Target, this was an inexpensive way to get some music into our kitchen without taking up cabinet space. It was easy to install with 5 screws under a cabinent, and even came with a paper template to make it almost foolproof. And the radio and cd player work fine. The sound is adequate but not great, but what can you expect for $60. It looks very nice though. The tuner is not digital, which is a negative in my mind, and also the digital clock for some reason is so close to the top of the unit that it is not viewable if you are standing/walking because it is blocked by the bottom of the cabinet. The last negative is the cd tray itself. My mother broke hers the first day she had it. We are more careful, but I'm expecting it won't last long once our son starts opening/closing it. Could be made better, but again, it meets a current need without spending much on the unit.
