1 Star ReviewDead on arrival!
Strengths: Design, GE Promotion
Weaknesses: Dead on arrival. Doesn't work.
Summary: I made the unfortunate decision of buying this microwave without doing my homework. For some reason I thought that the GE brand meant something - and I know now it does not.

The microwave was dead on arrival. We had it professionally installed and nada, no light no nothing. I made an appointment through the GE appliance website and the repairman said the circuit board was "dead" and ordered a replacement one.

The replacement board arrived a few days later in a poorly taped box and was physically damaged - so the repairman said he would order another replacement. That was over a week ago - and nothing. No updates, no replacement board - and a dead microwave in my kitchen. It is now 20 days since the microwave was installed and there is nothing I can do at this point.

Calls to GE Appliance Customer Relations have been time consuming and worthless, they can offer no assistance, escalation or recourse - just an exercise in frustration. The GE Authorized repairman in my area is so busy, that he does not return messages. I guess that pretty much says it all right there. Caveat emptor!

2 Star ReviewWhat a Joke!
Strengths: Looks, easy to use.
Weaknesses: Customer Support - Microwave only 14 mos. old and already on my 3rd interior light bulb.
Summary: This microwave is a joke! There must be a defect inside that makes the interior light bulb keep burning out. The only way to replace the stupid thing is to UNINSTALL the whole unit from the wall and replace the bulb inside the top of the microwave from the top. Luckily my husband (being an electrician) was able to do this without calling a dumb GE Service Technician who only wanted to rip us off for $285.00 for labor. We said forget it we will do it ourselves. The light bulbs are expensive ($35.00 plus shipping) and we are on our 3rd one. We called GE to report the problem and to see if there was anything they could do to help us (like send us some free light bulbs since there obviously is a defect in the unit and they said that's something they'll have to look in to. Of course, we never heard back from them and that was a month ago. We will never buy another GE product because their customer service is non-existant.

2 Star ReviewRip Off
Strengths: Attractive design
Weaknesses: Interior Light
Summary: This microwave works just fine, other than the fact the interior light went out after a year of owning it. We thought we would just take out a bulb and replace it but no. Nowhere in the manual does it tell you what to do in this case, so we called GE and were told all they can do is send out a tech for 99 bucks plus whatever parts and labor cost. After reading the above post, it appears that total would be about 285 bucks. All this to replace a lightbulb that probably cost about 2 dollars to manufacture. What a rip off!!!
