Strengths: Fast charge without creating much heat in the batteries. The individual LED charge indicator lets you know when each battery is done. The included batteries are top notch
Weaknesses: none yet 6 months later.
Summary: I was looking into buying a high quality yet cheap NIMH charger and came across this unit which had a great price and included 4 2500mah batteries. Most chargers in this price class include 1800mah cells. I was amazed when I saw that it had invidual charge indicators for each battery. Nobody else had this feature in this price range. Simply excellent.

Strengths: Individual Charging Circuits High Capacity 2500mAh Batteries
Weaknesses: Would have prefered a corded charger. (May be a strength for some)
Summary: 2006-03-29 06:22:20 This charger functions as advertised. It has four separate charging indicators/circuits. It utilizes temperature and -delta v detection methods to stop chargin once the cell is full. The included 4 AA 2500mAh batteries are a nice addition. The charging speed (5-6hours) may be slower than my other charger (2-3 hours), but the batteries do remain cooler with this Ultra-branded charger. The plug can be flipped into the unit itself when not being used, so it will be perfect for those on the go. Personally I would have prefered a corded adapter, so that the charger can be accessed more easily, but that really is the only issue.

The only concern is with its durability and longetivity. I have never purchased/used any other ULTRA-branded products, so I don't know how about the reliability of their products. If the unit breaks down or encounters any problems, I'll be sure to update this review.

[Noticed that it refuses to charge "bad" or "imperfect" cells probably due to its built in "cell condition" detection system. New cells of the same brand as these "bad" cells - "Lenmar" work fine with the charger. These same "bad" cells still charge fine in my "timer" based charger and work - albeit not up to their full capacity since they are "failing". This problem is prevalent for almost all non-timer based chargers with advanced detection methods (including the ones made by Sony and Lenmar). Since this problem is not specific to this model/brand alone, I am still very satisfied with the unit so far]

Strengths: Individual circuits for each battery to charge 1,2,3, or 4 batteries at a time; relatively quick; light-weight; 3-year warranty (automatic upgrade from 1 to 3 yrs. for registering)
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: This was quite a deal: $20 at TigerDirect, including both the 4 2500mAh AA rechargeable batteries, *and* 6 850mAh AAA batteries. Although the web/box specifications say that you can charge 2 or 4 batteries at a time, the instructions say 1-4 b/c of individual circuits. And the 1-4 batteries appears to be the case.

This moves to trickle charge if you keep it plugged in so no real fear of overcharging unless you forget about it for a long, long time.

Great buy.

Strengths: single charge lasts long, Individual charging indicators, worldwide voltage compatibility, good value for money
Weaknesses: Takes bit long time to charge all the battries
Summary: I choose this charger because of its high charging capacity 2500 mAh which means single charge will last longer.

It supports 110-240 Volts and this is very convenient when you travel abroad to Europe and Asia where the input voltage differs. The charger is compact to fit your travel bags.

There are separate charging indicators for each battery. The manual says the charger first checks for the compatibility of the battery being charged and I think this is a good security feature.

Only shortfall I find that there are some chargers available today in market that charges batteries in 15 minutes or 1 hour. But this charger takes about 300 minutes to charge 4 AA batteries.

But for me, with the price you are paying for this charger and battery - this is the best. I am quite satisfied with this product.

Thanks

Aurobindo

Strengths: Fast charge time, individual charging channels, trickle charge, included battery power size.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: Price is awesome for this item. Does a great job and the 4 included 2500mAh batteries last while powering my Canon PowerShot S2 IS. Turned around and bought 4 more of the batteries.

Strengths: Comes with 4 2500mAh NiMh.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: Actually, bought two of this already. One for my father who is living in Europe. No power adapter so easy to store. Individual charging LED so you know which one is fully charged already.

Highly recommended.

Strengths: relatively fater charged, compact size, longer life. And, the most important thing is that you cannot find a better charger and batteries at a cheaper price.
Weaknesses: No signal light shows whether the battery is empty or not before being charged.
Summary: I use this charger and battery for my Nikon digital camera which uses two AA batteries. I think they match perfectly. The batteries can support the camera for several rounds. I would like to recommand this product for its quality and price.

Strengths: Batteries charge quickly and last a long time
Weaknesses: None at this time
Summary: I purchased this unit for my daughter to use with her digital camera. The batteries charge up quickly and do not get hot. She is extremely pleased with how long the batteries last. She uses the display instead of the viewfinder when she takes pictures so it draws more power, but they still last a long time. So far this seems to be a very good unit, especially for the price.

Strengths: Ability to charge 1-4 cells at a time.
Weaknesses: None identified at this time.
Summary: The Ultra Quick Battery Charger is a very good product, especially for its low price. I purchased it to replace an older failing charger that came with my digital camera. This charger is more flexible than my older charger was.

2 Star ReviewBroke on 4th usage :-(
Strengths: Comes with 2500mAh batteries. Works worldwide 110V-220V Reasonable time to fully charge the batteries Bang for buck, maybe
Weaknesses: Not sure if it really works with 220V
Summary: I got this thing for the reviews here looked favorable. I'm not a heavy user of my camera, so this thing gets used sparingly, if at all. It obviously charges the batteries that come along with it, and I tried Duracell 2650mAh batteries as well. It does charge them, but not sure if it can go all the way to 2650 as this only claims to be 2500. Anyways, on my trip to Asia, this thing (only the 4th time I was using it) was plugged into 220V power outlet...no smoke or anything, but initially it seemed to charge the batteries well. I checked after a couple of hours....this is simply blinking red and green. I was scared that my batteries were toast, but that wasn't the case, it was the charger which went broke. Luckily I had another charger (from Canon), as a backup.

Contacting their tech support is a pain. I don't mind the time zone difference, but the wait times are horrrrible. They pretend they are busier than Dell. I thought Dell tech support was worst. Maybe their product quality is such that it clogs their tech support line. Btw, they promptly asked me to email them, maybe to avoid harsh questions from me.

So, in a nutshell, I'm not sure if this actually works with 220V, as they claim it to be. Giving it a rating per the description - 'It works, but would not purchase again.'

Strengths: supports 120/240Vac, product comes with 4x2500mAh batteries,lightweight-compact design-affordable price, microcomputer detection/protection for full charged status, different led lights to communicate
Weaknesses: a cord would be great since it seems loose when plugged to outlet-but doesnt make problems without cord either
Summary: Product comes with 2500mAh batteries, I couldn't find this size with other products around the same price, its compact design, folding Ac plug blads and light weight is a plus to take it with you for vocations, I use the charger for my digital camera and it has been doing great so far, The product supports Europe 240Vac - i think this is an important plus, the product has voltage detection to ensure batteries are fully charged and once its charged microcontroller stops charging, the LEDs are communicating with different colors whether the charging is done or not.

Strengths: Nice looking, convenient, compact, good price!
Weaknesses: Takes a little longer time to charge than expected (a few hours).
Summary: I have been using this product for one month and have been impressed with the results (see the strengths). I use two batteries in the camera, while the other two are always available for a back-up.

Strengths: Fast at charging. Loved the batteries that were included. They were high quality.
Weaknesses: None right now. Haven't had the product long enough.
Summary: Didn't want to keep buying new batteries for my new digital camera while vacationing, so I bought this battery charger. The price was right and it had the ability to charge AA/AAA batteries. Extra bonus was getting batteries included!!
