Strengths: Compact. Rubber finish. Easy Navigation. SD Card Slot. Sturdy built compared to the cost.
Weaknesses: Ofcourse the display is absent. Slow start for playing songs. Poor headphones.
Summary: I have been using this player for a month now(for walking and on treadmill), and I like it. The real reason to buy this cheap player is for its SD slot. I used this player along with 2 kingston 512 mb sd cards. The headphones were poor and I threw it away. Used Sony fontopia 51p headphones. The sound quality is ok to good (not excellent). I am not bothered about display for this cheap cost. However, at times the slow start of songs, tests my patience.

Strengths: small and fits anywhere, nice color, easy to use, good for student(high school budget)you don't need more..just replace the songs..
Weaknesses: it doesn't support wma's (so you can store MORE music)Only mp3's ,theres no screen.and the little case where the battery goes,is hard to use
Summary: Like I said this is a good buy.especially for people that don't want to waste more than $30 on an mp3 player..perfect for a low budget person..you know..besides you can always upgrade to more memory..so its good..the only thing i didn't like was that the little case where the battery goes..was weird.its really hard to put and take out the battery..I had to use a safety pin tip..to take out the battery to replace it..but other than that..its good :)oh and its small.so its easy to hide from people ;) like teachers...anyway its good :)

1 Star ReviewDissappointed!
Strengths: Small, lightweight, SD slot and perfect for the everyday runner, biker, blader etc.
Weaknesses: Kills battery after a couple hours of use. Erased the data several times for no apparent reason. Volume turns down by itself so i have to continually turn it back up! Earphones are terrible!
Summary: The first initial use worked perfect with no problems. For the price i thought it was great. But after the first battery change i was randomly losing my data. Then the volume started turning down on me. The player would cut out completely when i Tried to turn it up, or Change to another song. Until ultimately my player has died after not even 4 months of having it!!!! I guess i got what i paid for. Highly dissappointed!

3 Star ReviewSimple No Frills & Cheap
Strengths: Accomodate 2GB SD Card, good feel, okay sound, small design, lightweight, flash light while on, No software needed, $19.99 @ Fry's
Weaknesses: No folder or directory navigation, awkward on/off, no LCD, no sound modes or adjustments, mp3 format only
Summary: 2006-07-17 13:46:40 Simple, no frills mp3 player. Tested mp3 bit rates at 96 to 320, works well. I like that XP recognizes it as another drive so no need to use special software to transfer mp3s. It will create folders for directories but you can't manuver from folder to folder, it only moves song to song. Nice brush finish and button feel. Hassle to turn off/on 'cause need to keep button down about 4-5 secs before it goes on or off. Has problem starting in morning cold 60 degrees or less, I put it between my legs to warm it up a bit - then it will turn on (once on won't shut off). I use it primarily in car with my cassette adapter. I'd buy it again for $20 USA. Looks like once you use an SD card, you no longer are able to use the 128 internal memory, even with the SD card out.

Strengths: expandable, decent sound
Weaknesses: No display, slow
Summary: Well, you get what you pay for. Are you looking for a decent, inexpensive mp3 player that is expandable and has a few different options? Well, this ones not too bad. For its price, you could do alot worse (heck, i know that i have). Overall, i'd say its worth the money.
