Strengths: Easy button operation. Menu Button is intuitive to use. Accepts MP3, Ogg, ASF, and WMA files. USB Mass Storage Device (drag and drop and works as a flash drive.) PC/Mac compatible.
Weaknesses: Sound quality is good, but not as rich & deep as it could be. No FM Tuner (only voice recording.) Earbuds are decent but lacks rich and deep sounds.
Summary: 2006-03-08 07:36:00 The YP-U1Z has no FM tuner (and thus no radio recording), although it has a voice recording functionality. The Menu Button of the YP-U1Z is very user friendly (I used it easily without referring to a quick guide book.) The slim, pear-whitish design of the YP-U1Z is appealing, too. The Samsung has an LCD screen and is multi-language capable. Overall, the YP-U1Z is a wonderful 1GB MP3 Player, and you'll be pleased to own it.

Strengths: Quick download, easy to use and navigate, software installation
Weaknesses: Start up time, rechargable battery, light weight
Summary: Bought this as a gift for someone. Start up time is a bit long in my opinion. Functions are clear and easy to navigate, need manuals to play with advance functions. Software installation was a breeze. Download songs is simple drag and drop. Rechargable power thru USB is nice, but would recommend external battery for long term usage. Didn't count on the duration of charge, but are OK for me. Will recommend this unit to anybody who want a simple, small size mp3 player.

Strengths: slim, easy navigation, great style, good ear phone
Weaknesses: sound quality ok, no case
Summary: Pretty much everything I've expected except for the sound quality. Don't get me wrong, is not bad but in my PO I think it can be improved. I was hoping for a little soft case with plastic facing guess was asking too much.

I purchased this so I can take it with me to snowboard. Didn't want to take a Nano just in case if I stumbled in the half-pipes, then there goes the $250.

This is a great mp3 to go if you like that kind of sport, it's good price won't hurt you wallet and in my PO it looks better than anyother flash plyer besides Nano of course.

Strengths: Slim, easy to charge via USB, flash drive for data is an extra advantage
Weaknesses: None seen in 3 months
Summary: A great MP3. My first and it is functioning wonderfully. Could not ask for a better player that also functions as a flash drive and I do not need any extra batteries or USB cables!!

Strengths: good sound quality, sleek design, sound recording and easy menu controls.
Weaknesses: cannot pause a song.
Summary: The best thing about this MP3 player is the awesome sound technology. The other great thing is of course the size, very convenient for storage and use. A lot of songs can also be downloaded into the player.

The Menu and controls are easy to understand and use.

But one thing I did not like is that I do not have the ability to actually pause the song without switching the player off. Once I click the pause button, the player automatically switches off in a couple of seconds. Instead, it would have been nice if the player stayed on but only paused the music.

Overall, I have to say it is a good buy.
