Strengths: Flat ceramic cooktop, no coils; hot surface indicator light; black finish
Weaknesses: not self cleaning; the body doesn't feel so solid, the bottom drawer feels rather light; it kind of feels cheaply made compared to other ovens, but you get what you pay for.
Summary: This is our first flat ceramic top range, and so far it looks pretty good considering the price we paid. For $353 with tax, this was the cheapest GE range we could find in black finish. The oven door actually gives a completely clear view inside, unlike the grayish glass door shown in the picture. We have not used the oven yet, but it all looks pretty simple and easy to use. The cooking surface seems to get stained easily, so I guess we need to polish it often. Overall it's a great buy for the price, and hopefully it will function just fine for quite a few years.
