Strengths: Very complete product. All the functionality you would want for a home office, especially:
VPN client support
USB print server
.11g Wi-Fi
4-port switch
Auto-sensing uplink port
Weaknesses: Could use a more thoroughly-tested USB printer compatibility list. With such a feature I would expect Netgear to have a well-established IHV program.
Summary: Netgear 1, Linksys 0. Netgear gets it right with a complete feature set, value, and reliability. Linksys may have the Cisco brand, but it has the reliability of an American car--hardly acceptable. My worst Windows PC wouldn't fail that often.
The Netgear box, it's very easy to set up, and it's a bargain as compared to my old Linksys WRT54G, whose wireless access would crap out--regularly. We're talking 2-3 times per 4 hour session. That's unacceptable. The Netgear box has yet to drop connectivity on 10 days. Networking, be it wired or wireless, is all about constant availability. The Netgear is rock-solid reliable. I cannot pay it a higher compliment.
