Strengths: Large, fast hard drive, bright screen, came with XP Professional edition
Weaknesses: Not real happy with the feel of the touch pad. I've had two compaq laptops and loved the touchpad on them but this one doesn't seem to "read" my touch nearly as effectively.
Summary: I like the unit well enough that I'm looking into purchasing another one for the family. I love the 15.4 screen. You can open DreamWeaver and have the browser open next to it to see how your changes are affecting the page. Aside from the touchpad I'm 100% happy. I'll get used to the touchpad in time, it's not that bad. Also, if you're interested in an APC power case (1300ci) this computer fits in it like a hand in a glove. Like it's custom made. Great combination. Did I mention 512 meg of ram installed and 2 gig capable? It's QUICK as it comes. Great price.

Strengths: speed, screen, os(win xp pro)
Weaknesses: no infra red device otherwise I haven't found any yet
Summary: have owned a fujitsu, ibm thinkpad, toshiba satellite 1805 and now this toshiba. toshiba is the best and this is the best yet. if you need a workhorse laptop and a widescreen (I write a lot of reports) then get this one. it is also one of the few laptops under $2000 with xp pro
