Strengths: Slim and sleek looking satellites, quality finish, convenient wired remote with headphone jack and mp3 input jack, good frequency response range
Weaknesses: Definitely not a Klipsch but at half the price what the hey, subwoofer and satellites a bit underpowered
Summary: These speakers are easy to install and they look and sound great. Although the subwoofer and satellites seem a bit underpowered, they were louder and clearer than I expected (my other computer speakers are Klipsch THX Certified). I find it very convenient to have the volume control, bass control, power button, head phone and mp3 jacks on the wired remote which I can place right within reach on my desk. Although the mp3 input doesn't work for all players, especially if it's a Sony. You won't find a better pair of 2.1 speakers at this price. Highly Recommended.

Strengths: Attractive styling, wired remote with headphone and mic jacks, decent bass and clean sound, solid construction
Weaknesses: none
Summary: 2006-06-13 07:32:59 This set of speakers allowed me to banish the last bit of beige from my computer desk. The black and silver finish matches well with my Dell monitor and Logitech G15 keyboard. The wired remote is a great feature which allows you to put the volume/bass/mute controls in a convenient location and includes the aforementioned phone and mic jacks. All connections are made with standard type, well-fitting connectors which I have read has been a weakness in other more expensive brands. I'm currently just using these with the built in ALC850 audio chip with games so that isn't much of a sonic test. However, they sound better than my previous 2.1 beige beauties. I'll be getting an X-Fi soundcard shortly so I'll be sure to update on whether these speakers properly show off the capability of the card.

Update: Did a test playing War of the Worlds DTS with the X-Fi card and the speakers did a terrific job (considering the size and price of the speakers, of course). Plenty loud, for me, without distortion. WoW has some nice LFE and the little subwoofer did a respectable job with them.

3 Star Reviewstylish fine speakers but with misleading pictures
Strengths: style, sound quality, power saving(40w)
Weaknesses: misleading ad pictures,
Summary: I bought this to replace my logitech z640. My room is too small to place z640 5.1 speakers. The new stylish z4 speakers fit my PC desk better. The remote control allows me to control the bass volume, which is an improvement from the previous models. And it is easy to play from an mp3 player with the z4 speakers. The sound quality is fine and crispy. It also saves power than 5.1 speakers. One thing bad about the z4 speakers is about the misleading sample pictures. The z4 pictures from logitech seem to be cordless. Actually all four pieces come with wires. And that degrades it from four stars to three stars.

Strengths: Affordable Price Attractive Design Good sound quality Powerful bass for a small room
Weaknesses: Wired remote control
Summary: After using my laptop's built-in speakers for the last 5 years, these speakers are like a fresh spring breeze. These speakers sound great, are easy to set up, and were a really good deal. I paid $80 and am expecting $55 in rebates, so I'll have them for $25 hopefully. Sometimes I'm afraid that my neighbors will complain that they're too loud- especially the bass. Please take into account the fact that I'm tone deaf and I live in a small studio apartment.

Strengths: Looks good, great 2.1 sound, great price, nice wired remote.
Weaknesses: A little bit longer satellite speaker wires might be nice, but I can't complain.
Summary: I was looking for a good 2.1 speaker system for my computer and wanted to avoid spending a lot of money. This system has great sound (even at max volume) and is very reasonably priced. I was very pleased with my purchase.

Strengths: Extreme affordability, plenty of volume, remote is very convenient, very easy to install
Weaknesses: Striking a good balance between mids and highs on the satellites can be difficult, satellites are really easy to knock over (base isn't grippy/heavy enough).
Summary: Overall, Logitech continues to impress with the quality of their products. Every piece of Logitech gear I have ever owned or used has done its job very well. These speakers continue the trend, being amazingly affordable (~60 bucks), and delivering strong and crisp sound. Having the wired remote makes the speakers very easy to adjust, and the headphone jack is also nice to have (it also doesn't need to be on to route sound to a pair of headphones). The woofer is surprisingly ballsy for something so cheap, and the satellites do their job nicely as well. My only real issues with the system are that the satellites are really easy to knock over ( the base is very light and the pads are not very grippy), and that sometimes it is difficult to get a nice balance between mids and highs from them. Really these are both minor complaints. This is a fantastic system for the price, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Also, note that while the pictures for this seem to indicate that the speakers are wireless, they aren't.

Strengths: Small, modern style. Sub can fit in small spaces. Remote feels good in hand.
Weaknesses: Bass a little on the weak side. Speakers can get damaged by probing fingers.
Summary: I have had quite a few Logitech speakers over the years, mostly 4.1 and 5.1 models. This time around, I needed something that was compact so I opted for the Z4 speakers because the style was decent and the wired remote seemed well designed. I hooked them up in short order and ran them through the normal tests with music that has mostly instrumentals and music with heavy bass. My verdict? Well, I think that Logitech did a good job putting these together. The Z4s aren't going to give my 400 watt speakers any competition, buy I knew that from the start. What you will get is surprisingly clear sound with adequate bass. Nothing that is going to bring the house down, but enough for everyday use. Just make sure to keep people from poking at the exposed speaker cones. These speakers are an overall good value.

Strengths: Good color and background, good bass, good basic speaker set up
Weaknesses: Big base, hard to hide away,
Summary: 2007-09-11 13:14:42 Works like you expect it to, can get the volume up really loud and annoy the neighbors. Good basic speakers and they really look cool with the exception of the big base. Recommended.

Strengths: Nice looking, Easy to turn volume and bass control, Useful Mp3 input and headphone jacks
Weaknesses: Speaker is little bit big.
Summary: Overall I enjoy this speaker system very much. Especially I can easily use the power button and headphone jack on the control panel. I can also play music through my mp3 player without turning on my computer.

Strengths: Good looking and good sound quality, good price too
Weaknesses: none
Summary: It is easy to install and it looks and sounds great. In addition, it is very convenient to have the volume and bass control, power button, head phone and mp3 jacks on the wired remote, which I can put on end tables. I like it and highly recommend it

Strengths: good looking and great sound for general purpose.
Weaknesses: limited power. short wire.
Summary: I have used a couple Logitech speakers. Z4 is a basic 2.1 system targeting for general PC users. Its sound is clear and base is sufficient. The stylish design is always a big plus for Logitech products.

If you are picky about the sound, listening to music for example, you may look elsewhere for Altec Lancing or Promedia. If you like loud sound effects in gaming, you may also want to check out their Z2x00 line. I really hope Z4's wire is long enough to circle around my L-shaped computer desk.

this speaker can be had for sub $40 range after rebate. At this price range, this is one of the best set you could get.

Strengths: Speakers are great. The sound quality the speakers produces are very clear and very easy to setup. The design is slick(black) and great remote control that is easy to handle.
Weaknesses: Subwoofer could use more power.
Summary: Overall great speakers and wont leave a dent in your pocket if your looking for a mid range speaker for your comp, but if your looking for a more bass power system this is the not one for you.

Strengths: system look great, sound is crisp
Weaknesses: bass a little weak, speakers not isolated.
Summary: 2007-07-13 06:30:06 This set of speakers sound pretty good, even though the bass subwoofer can be a little stronger. At lower volumes, the subwoofer bass is very hard to hear. The speakers aren't well insolated so when a cell phone goes off, you can hear the distortion. Overall, the speakers sound clean and have more than enough power for my needs. I got them pretty cheap after rebate, but probably wouldn't pay the full price if I had to. However, I do recommend the speakers if purchased at reasonable price.

Strengths: Good clarity, crisp sound. Sleek design, accessible subwoofer control
Weaknesses: Bass is a bit weak, bright blue LED on remote can get annoying.
Summary: I have had these for a couple days now and I am really impressed. I have owned the z-680s, and x-530s, and these definately sound better than both of them (granted they were both 5.1 setups). I love how they look, and they sound fastastic. The bass is a bit weak, but overall these are a great bank for your buck. Highly recommended.

Strengths: Excellent Price Convenient Set-Up Easy to Use Remote
Weaknesses: Weak Bass Bulky Size
Summary: I just bought these speakers for $30 After Rebate, and I am very satisfied with them for the price that I paid. Very easy to set up and has a great remote that is wonderful and convenient. I am disappointed with the bass, as I feel it could be stronger (all my settings on max). Other than that, sound quality is great. The speakers are quite large in size, especially the sub. I've seen smaller speakers that can produce just as much power. Overall, a great set of speakers if you can find them for under $50!
