Strengths: Rock solid product / Nice remote / Has every cables in one box
Weaknesses: The external box is bigger than I thought / No manual on paper (everything is on CD)
Summary: I bought this for my dell e1405 laptop. Since my laptop has an integrated low performance intel GMA950 graphics, I was quite worried if it would run smooth enough. My OS is windows media center 2005.

After connecting and installing the driver, I wasn't able to watch TV in mediacenter, showing a message 'decoder not installed'. I had to google for a while trying to figure out what this was. I found out that a DVD decoder software such as power DVD, Sonic DVD, or nvidia DVD decoder package has to be installed and these are not free. So I installed the Dell power DVD. The TV came out okay, but it was dropping frame rates. I was really worried now thinking it is my laptops fault.

I talked with adaptec support, and they just told me that I should try on other mediacenter PCs. So I installed mediacenter on my desktop, and it worked fine there.

After several attempts, I realized I should try a different codec, so I tried Sonic DVD, and then the nvidia dvd decoder. I found out that those two were working absolutly fine. I am getting full frames, and recording also works fine. The Sonic DVD installed other extra softwares which I didn't like, while nvidia DVD pack installed only the codec. So for my system, the nvidia DVD decoder works best.

Recording two TV's at a time is no problem, and all the cables, even the antenna cable splitter, are included in this package.

The remote has a wide range of coverage, and the buttons feel good not like a cheap remote.

I feel like I got the wings for mediacenter. To buy the remote itself with a reciever just costs around $30. Getting this package at $100 after rebate seemed like a good deal for me. I am very satisfied with this, and highly recommending it to others.

Strengths: right out of the box, it's plug and play with MCE. no drivers, just plug in the usb and MCE does the rest. the dual tuners are also great for watching/recording more than one show at once.
Weaknesses: MCE doesn't seem to allow you to convert the recorded tv files into any other format to burn/send to other non-mce PCs. I've found a few 3rd party converting apps, but none seem to work as expected.
Summary: great quality, originally bought for burning tv shows to DVDs, but as of now I'm using it for the awesome PVR functionality. i hope to find a better way to burn the recordings to a DVD playable on any
