Great til it burnt out
Strengths: Great Picture. Ease of use
Weaknesses: No DVI input. No Digital Tuner.
Summary: I was very happy with this TV for about 15 months. Then, out of no where, the picture stopped working. I am guessing a fuse/transistor blew on the mainboard. And of course, this happens shortly after the warranty ended. After searching the web, it looks like this is a common occurrence with this model. You may want to stay away.

Strengths: Light, lots of inputs, robust remote, SUPERB picture.
Weaknesses: None immediately noticeable.
Summary: 2005-10-29 21:01:50 Value for the price is what caught us with this LCD monitor. At 32 inches it's not one of the largest sets available but it certainly produces one of the clearest pictures you'll find in any piece of video equipment. Our in-store comparison found this to compete easily with 42-inch plasma sets and we won't have to worry about screen burn-in. The HDMI allows for the clearest broadcast images and the multitude of inputs means we'll be using this set with a VCR, DVD, cable as well as a PC - all connected simultaneously. So far, two thumbs way up!

Buy only if less than $1000
Strengths: Target had a killer sale on this TV and I got it for cheap
Weaknesses: Color takes time to set everytime you change channel. Remote ridiculously small, and not universal. Can't change screen size when DVD player connected to component jack. Tuner locks up. See more below
Summary: Only buy if you get a good deal like I did. Wait until Target cuts price to $1000 and includes the free TIVO. Sign up for the credit card to get 10% off at time of purchase, and then return the TIVO. In the end, it cost me about $730 (it actually cost me less because I know someone who works at Target, and I an additional 10% off). This is my only LCD so I have nothing to compare it to, but, aside from it looking pretty and not taking up too much space, I don't see the fuss about LCD televisions. Be prepared to buy component cables because anything you connect with RCA jacks will look like crap. I'm not a snob, but my Playstation2 was unplayable, and DVDs were unwatchable. Sony Playstation2 component cables cost about $30 and they're not that easy to find.

Strengths: Great Picture, even with the Analog Cable I have. The HDMI interface is awesome. A great buy
Weaknesses: The remote is not the very best I have seen. They could have done a good job there.
Summary: Like the previous reviewer, I bought this from Target with teh Free TiVO. I just love this TV. It plays so well with my analog cab;le. No problems at all. I got a new DVD player with HDMI cable and the movies play very very clear. Extremenly good buy. Very happy with it

Strengths: Excellent picture quality, side and rear AV plugs, LCD TV as computer Monitor.
Weaknesses: Remote control is not well designed. Some "white spots" seen when displaying all black/shadow graphics on screen.
Summary: The remarkable clarity of this LCD HDTV is phenomenal. I looked at quite a few models including Sony, Samsung, and Panasonic before selecting the Phillips 32PF5320. For the price I paid ($1,249 )this set is a bargain you can't pass up, if you looking to go High Definition!

Strengths: Color, Features, Price ($998.00 w/ Free Tivo @ Target), PC DVI to HDMI connection, Very light, Sound.
Weaknesses: Remote Control, Ease of remote functions and navigation.
Summary:
At first I was hesitant to buy this Flat LCD TV due to the limited reviews, none from Consumer Reports and was not really familiar with Philips FLAT LCD TV brand. I was looking for another Panasonic Flat TV but a smaller screen size. I could not find a good deal. So, I took a chance and my gamble paid off. Before writing this review, I had to make sure that I have tested all the feature and adjusted all the settings, which took a while. The first time I set it up I was disappointed because of the quality of the picture coming from Digital Satelite(None HD)and other devices. I was going to return it the next day but after changing the cables and fine tuning it, VOILA, Crystal Clear Picture, no more pixelation, no more bad color. The second thing I tested is the Component Input using a Lite-On DVD Recorder/Player, again awesome picture quality. The last thing I tested is connecting my pc(video card support for HDTV) using DVI to HDMI connection. Again not a disappointment. I set the resolution setting to 1920 x 1020, this was the highest it would support @ 60 Hz. Other HDTV Format settings will not work. The video card I am using is a ATI Radeon 9600. I opened up Picture files and DVD movies playing, wonderful quality.
One thing I don't like about this product is the remote control, it is no universal remote thats for sure. I can't not program other devices to work with this remote and I could not find anything at Philips site.
Overall, I love this TV. It was within my budget compared to other no-brand name. I am happy with my purchase and I hope you find this very helpful.

Strengths: Bright, clear picture for a very reasonable price.
Weaknesses: Couldn't change video format while watching dvd through component inputs
Summary: For the amount of money you pay for this tv, it's worth every dollar. The lcd is well lit and has a clear, beautiful picture. The colors may seemed a little washed out at first, but it can be corrected easily after adjusting some settings through the menu. Menus are easy to navigate and pretty intuitive.

Strengths: Excellent picture quality, doubles as my PC monitor
Weaknesses: No DVI input (only HDMI), remote feels a little light in my hand
Summary: I bought this on sale for $999 at Target w/ free Tivo unit.
At first I was hesitant due to the lack of reviews, but the price was good, so I jumped in.
I have been VERY impressed. The picture is crystal clear and looks excellent from just about any viewing angle.
I also use this as a PC monitor, but for that I had to buy an HDMI-DVI cable (from monoprice.com). Image quality is again excellent.
I am very happy with my purchase and strongly recommend this LCD TV/Monitor.

Strengths: PICTURE AS GOOD AS ANY ON THE MARKET, BAR NONE
Weaknesses: NONE
Summary: bought this tv at Target's a week ago for $998. Could not believe the price. $400 below anything in its class. Picture is as clear as anything I have ever watched, sound very good and hdmi connection (ulimate hookup) I have digital service and when I hooked this tv up I could not believe my eyes. Went back to Target and shook the hand of salesman. What a buy.

nice for price
Strengths: lightweight, fits on an 8" shelf, picture, blacks
Weaknesses: basic remote, light on features
Summary: Bought to replace broken Sceptre. Do not buy Sceptres! Philips has a much better picture. Decent black levels and detail within shadows. Philips picture didn't blur with high speed motion like the Sceptre's.
Easy to assemble and get working. Easy to lift and hold if you want to put on shelf or hang on wall. Remote looks like a large eraser. I was able to program my comcast remote to turn it on and off and work the volume control.
Lacking some things people might want, like a second HDMI, cable card and HDTV tuner. This might make it obsolete sooner than other tv's of this type.
Can't rate it higher than a *** at this point because I don't know how well it will hold up. Have heard Philips has a problem with reliability. We'll see.

Strengths: Great picture quality, low price, modern frame.
Weaknesses: The remote could easily be better.
Summary: My choice came down to this Philips and a comparable 32" Sony LCD. The picture quality on this TV comes so close to the Sony's that its a crime to spend the extra 500+ dollars(for the Sony). I can say this is definitely the best TV per dollar value out there right now. I can not wait for more channels to be available.

Strengths: Good picture quality, ease of setup, compatible with latest digital video / audio formats like HDMI, very simple interface and looks real sleek.
Weaknesses: Appearance of slight ghost image on some channels only.
Summary: I bought this TV because I was looking for a high quality, large screen LCD TV for a good price. This TV definitely meets all the above criteria and its ease of setup, sleek looks and user-friendliness are definite plusses.
