Strengths: Price, picture quality, wide range of input options

Summary: 2006-04-24 20:22:54 I purchased this item on sale, as I had been looking for a new TV and didn't really want to drop any money into an analog set, so at less than $600 overall, this model was my first choice. Besides the contemporary exterior design, I was impressed with the variety of inputs on this model, including composite, s-video, sd interlaced component, hd/sd progressive component, vga, and dvi sources. The picture quality overall is fantastic: HD sources are extremely crisp and vibrant. SD signals through my satellite box are good, as good as you can expect a low-resolution source to be displayed on a high-resolution monitor. The black levels on this model are the only thing I have a slight problem with, even at the lowest setting, "black" is still too bright. This is due to the slightly lower than average contrast ratio of the display (450:1). However, in regards to price, I think its easy to overlook this slight shortcoming. Other minor issues, which are mainly personal preferences: the included remote may come off as small to some people, the on screen displays are slightly too small to read from more than 4 or 5 feet away, and the lowest volume setting is still slightly too loud in some situations. Despite these small issues, I am completely happy with my purchase and would buy from Philips again!

Strengths: One of the lowest priced 23" flat panel tv's; good image quality and sound; can be used as a pc monitor
Weaknesses: Contrast is not as good as other lcd tv's
Summary: One of the lowest priced 23" widescreen flat panel tv's. HDTV compatible with the addition of a receiver. Picture quality and sound are excellent. Can be used as a PC monitor with PIP so you can watch TV at the same time. DVI input is also available. 450:1 contrast is not as high as other lcd tv's though.

Strengths: I like the looks of the set and the quality vs. cost is excellent.
Weaknesses: At this point, I do not see any weakness worth writing about.
Summary: I was looking for a Flat Panel HDTV that had a built in speaker, had a quality look and was reasonably priced, a tall order. When I saw the Philips and read the features, I was VERY impressed. I have now had the set for about 2 weeks and continue to believe that I made a good deal.

Strengths: best looking lcd tv i have seen, a nice balance of matte (not gloss) black and silver. dvi (computer) input so can be used as a computer monitor.
Weaknesses: no built-in HD tuner, which limits your ability to use OTA signals. sound is loud and hard to lower, as others have stated may be the wrong unit for a bedroom. remote keys are very small.
Summary: 2007-03-22 12:37:53 bought for our kitchen. overall very pleased with this purchase so far. the design and appearance of this tv are outstanding. i am using with a standard sd cable signal and i am pleasantly surprised with the picture quality. i do intend to attach it to a HD source eventually. and we will use it with a pc input to web surf in the kitchen. paid 399 for our set.

 Phillips Flat Panel HDTV Strengths: The surround sound feature.
Weaknesses: Picture and sound quality.
Summary: You can really hear the difference when you switch from stereo to the surround sound feature. Other than that, I was not impressed with the TV. The sharpness and the contrast do not really do too much. I could not get the picture to clear. I always looked digital. When I hooked the TV up with RCA cables, to receive HDTV, the TV made a humming sound. The Cables were changed and so was my HD box, it still hummed. The picture quality was good in HD the sound still was not. For the price I guess it's an ok TV but I will never buy it again.

Strengths: Easy set up. Crystal clear screen. Sound is fantastic
Weaknesses: transmissions under 480 a little fuzzy but not that bad.
Summary: This is a beautiful tv, light, sleak easy to set up right out of the box. I got a Fantastic Deal at BJ's only 449.50 You can't beat that. My son is using it for his Television as well as his computer and gaming monitor.
The picture is crystal clear and the sound is great. You can set it on 1 and hear it with no problem and none of the up down up down of the volume. I'm thinking of getting another one for the living room

 Purchased Refurb a year ago and stpped working! Strengths: Great picture Great price ($400)
Weaknesses: The words on screen while trying to program, adjust volume etc are too small. Stopped working- no power after less than a year
Summary: I was working perfectly all year and the other day, I went to turn it on using remote & nothing. Tried the power button and nothing. I barely watch tv and it's been well cared for. Luckily, I purchased a 1 year warranty so if it had happened 1 month later I'd be out of luck!

BE CAREFUL
Strengths: Good Picture, when it worked.
Weaknesses: Too loud of sound.
Summary: My T.V. Stopped working. The set does not turn on anymore and I have only had it for 6 months. The status light in the corner shows green which usually meant it was on, however, no picture shows up on the screen. Return this T.V. if you still can.

Strengths: Price, Physical Design, Inputs
Weaknesses: Overall Screen Brightness, Volume Lowest Setting is still loud
Summary: Overall, this TV is not bad. The picture needs tweaking based on the preset screen options you are given for the color and brightness to look right. I really like the design and look of this TV. I'm working on sending the sound through something other than the TV speakers b/c for a bedroom TV the low volume is fairly loud. All in all, this is a good TV for its value.

 good TV for small apartment Strengths: cost effective
Weaknesses: lowest sound is too loud, supporter is not so strong
Summary: I bought this TV for my small apartment. It is pretty good in pictures. It is not expensive like others. But the sound is strange, even the lowest sound (1) is still too loud for me at night time. another issue is the supporter, I am worried about that cause it looks not so strong.
