I am impressed with the easiness of installation. By far, the connection is stable and fast, both on USB and firewire ports. I cannot give exact numbers of transfer rates because I have not did a transfer rate test yet. This card uses ALi chip. 100% of People (4/4) found this review helpful. doowop02 from AR Member Since: Sep 2002 View Member's: Reviews Product Experience: 1 Day	3 USB vs. Norm of Only 2 & FireWire Strengths: Extra USB 2.0 port - normally find 2 USB and 2 FireWire, or one of the USB is internal (haven't really found a use for an internal USB, but I'm sure there is one), and reliable. Weaknesses: None yet Summary: Purchased to add an old internal hard drive using a hard drive case with USB/FireWire hot swappable interface. Strengths: The ports seem to work Weaknesses: Freezes the computer, requiring restart. Useless!! Summary: This card causes Macs running OS10 to freeze while in sleep mode, and require restart. Despite the fact that this problem is known to Iogear, the card continues to be marketed as "Mac compatible." Buried deep in Iogear's website is technical document #10177 describing the problem, and disavowing responsibility for it, saying it is all Apple's fault.
