Weaknesses: Battery life is always a problem in all notebooks and so as this one. Battery runs for about 2.5 to 3 hrs max. which is not that bad.
Summary: You won't believe, but I have been looking for a laptop since more than 1 year and reviewing all the specifications and features offered by different products. When HP brought the DV series into the market, I made up my mind that "this is the laptop I want to get". My main criteria for a notebook was lightweight with all major ports and good specifications. This HP notebook satisfies it all. The remote that comes with it is the coolest thing that one can have. It helps me during my presentations and I no longer have to flip my slides manually! This saves about 40$ in buying an external remote for presentations. Moreover, the remote and also the extra keys that are on the notebook can start your DVD or Music files with one touch! This is an outstanding feature which no other notebooks offers till now (as far as what I researched). HP DV 1420 comes with 1.6 GHZ processor speed and 512 MB Ram which is expandable. If you are looking for a higher speed, customizing your laptop with HP is not at all a bad idea. I bought mine for a great deal from a store and I got a cordless mouse, wireless router, a printer with scanner and copier, and data transfer cable all for free after rebate with their special deal! I think the amount you spend on this one is very reasonable and its really worth the money. I would highly recommend this notebook (or other DV series ones) to the prospective notebook buyers. I am very happy with my notebook, and I am sure you will be too.
