Strengths: Along side with a dvd burner, usb 2.0 and firewire ports, A GREAT LCD Screen. low voltage cpu!
Weaknesses: The only down side for some customers may be the lack of a 3D card, it includes a Intel chip for video, but thats not a down side for me, who wants the battery life.
Summary: Just got this laptop a few days ago, it is incredible! Not only is the Pentium M cpu great, but a low voltage cpu! Im going to do some homework on to the battery it self, but so far each time I remove the ac adapter, it first asks me if I should disable the dvd burner to conserve battery life, from there I start out with around 5 hours of battery time left! I have heard people say the battery can run for up to 9 HOURS! This laptop performs for Exactly what I need! Solid performance and great battery run time! I just used this laptop non stop during a 6 hour flight across the country!

I have owned quite a few laptops, out of the ones I have previously owned, Thinkpads, Compaqs and HP's, the Thinkpads were my favorite for durability. But out of all of them, their batterys died, they would not last long on battery power... one was rated for 2 hours and 30 minutes, but wouldent even last 20 minutes!

Strengths: Size, Portability, Battery Life, Stylish
Weaknesses: Lack of choice for WLAN... Not compatible with EVDO network which is the new state of the art, cutting edge WLAN. The WLAN Sony has integrated is painfully slow compared to EVDO by Verizon & Sprint.
Summary: I love this notebook but cannot understand why Sony chose Cingular's network as the only choice for it's integrated WLAN. There really is no comparison between that and EVDO, which is almost everywhere now and is much faster. Of course you can use a card to access EVDO, but that defeats the whole purpose of having integrated WLAN.

Strengths: Light weight, thin and cute little notebook. XBrite for display is great, the AV Mode(no need to boot windows) to watch DVD, pictures, listen to music, etc. Not bad for the keyboard. Great design.
Weaknesses: Price, no built in microphone, WLAN is only with Cingular. I wish for larger and faster disk.
Summary: Extremely pleased with the total package. Has the DVD burner, USB 2.0, media card adapter. With in 15 minutes, I was able to set it up and connect it to my Wireless network. Have not yet tried burning a DVD. Battery seems to last longer more than 5.5 hours. I liked the AV mode feature. Bluetooth connectivity is also good, but at times with Sony Wireless mouse I had problems with the connection. The biggest draw back for me is to connect each time with bluetooth device. I wish if there was auto-connect feature for the bluetooth mouse.
