Weaknesses: Manual on CD only, only one IDE channel
Summary: I recently upgraded my ailing desktop machine with this motherboard and a D820 processor. I was surprised to find that there was only a single IDE channel - that wasn't something that I'd have thought they'd change. So, if you're upgrading a machine that has a couple of hard drives and a CD or DVD drive using the IDE interface, maybe this motherboard isn't for you. I suppose the designers thought that anyone who would go for this board and processor already had SATA drives. There's no hardcopy manual for the motherboard - it's on one of the attached CDs. Good manual, but if you have only one machine you'll want to print off the .pdf file of the manual before you tear your machine apart. Someone who plays with motherboards ever day might not need the manual, but some of the headers (such as for the front panel connectors) were just enough different that the manual can save you some time. The onboard video/graphics works great (I don't play video games) and is certainly painless to install, compared to installing an ATI video card. The Natural Color software that came with my Samsung SyncMaster 172N won't run. Intel provides software for adjusting color, etc., but the technique used for adjustment is crude compared to Natural Color. If no other manufacturer's motherboards appear that run the Intel dual-core processors, then this one will do, but it could have been more.
