Great Looking Phone Leave Features Lacking
Strengths: Nice color display, well lighted keypad, many ringtones included
Weaknesses: Two handsets froze, can only use phonebook by scrolling, only 10 characters in phonebook allowed
Summary: As much as I wanted to like this phone, I found more negative features than positive.
The most serious problem was that two of the handsets (SD4502) would freeze so you could not even get a dial tone. The speakerphone came on and you could not turn it off. The only solution to these problems was to disconnect the battery wire and then reconnect. This happened at least 2-3 times with each handset in only 2 days. A new phone should not do this!
Motorola calls this one of their "Advanced" feature phones, but I found many features I have come to expect standard on a cordless phone lacking on this one. Why should you be limited to only 10 characters per name in the phonebook. To search a name you can only scroll down a list. You do NOT have the option of pressing the "8" key for example to access names starting with T-U-V. This is very time-consuming just to do a simple search! Programming the phonebook took too much time. You have to hit the "*" key when you want to change from upper to lower case, for example.
The phone does have some nice features, though. The color display is very crisp and the user is offered many ringtones and wallpapers to chose from. However, the negative features outweigh the positive ones.
Needless to say, I returned this cordless system to the store!
