Strengths: Many new functions that other keyboards and mice do not have. Really increases user productivity and comfort.
Has buttons for almost everything.
Weaknesses: Distance limitation is only about 6 feet. Reciever needs to be positioned but is not designed for adjusting frequently. Angle can be adjsted to only two positions.
Summary: This is the best product I have ever bought for under $75. A really confortable curved keyboard with a built in writst rest and a numberical keypad. But the great thing is the buttons to control almost everything you could want: Mail, Web-Home, Calander, IM, My Documents, calculator, logout, and sleep. These are mostly adjustable so you can select other functions instead. Then there is a great zoom control right on the keyboard. Make windows compatable programs much easier to use by enlarging the font and graphics or diminishing them in finer gradations and to a much greater degree than is available in Microsoft's browser for example Just slide it up and down with your left little finger.
My favorite goody on this keyboard is something that all manufacturers should have thought of long ago, its such a simple idea. Microsoft has added 5 buttons for your favorite web sites--programmable as easily as a car radio tuner. If that all isn't enough, Microsoft threw in a complete set of button controls for the CD/DVD playing and sound volume and mute control. They only thing that is missing is the ability to store your own keyboard macro sequences. With all the intellegence built in to this keyboard, I suspect we will be seeing that in a next version.
And then part of the package is a laser mouse. No cleaning required and a precision I have not seen except in very high end graphic trackballs. It has the usual scrolling wheel, but also allows tilding of the wheel, left and right to control vertical scrolling. This combination really saves time in navigationg but you have to get used to it. I kept going back to the old way for a few weeks until I unlearned the old way. But in addition to everything else there are 5 buttones on the mouse. Microsoft has added two thumb buttons to the normal three: left, right and press the scroll wheel. I find this really productive for editiong word processing and other documents. I program one of the extra buttons as a delete key and the other as an enter key. All done now with the mouse hand. It is particualrly efficient if you are dictating text entry as I often do with Microsoft Word, but usefull for almost all editing.
No product is perfect and there are two flaws here, neither fatal but need not be there. The range of the reciever, which plugs into the USB port, is not great. I could only get about 6 feet unless you had complete line of site. This is no problem for a computer on or under your desk, or one to the side of a longe chair which is my configuration. (The keyboard and mouse fits perfectly on a Levinger lapboard.) But I also had visions of placing my laptop next to my 50 inch plasma screen and controling that from accross the room. But unless you ahve a small room or particularly good reception, that will have to await the next improved model.
However this is just a great product at any price. The fact that this can be made at this price is amazing to me. I really recomend this keyboard and mouse combo even if you do not need wireless. The functionality ignoring the woreless feature outclasses by far any other keyboard that I have ever seen.

Strengths: Reasonable price, design of keyboard has made my typing more accurate and comfortable, mouse is unbelievably precise and can cover entire screen with small motions of the hand.
Weaknesses: Setup was a little dicey as I had a wireless Logitech system installed on my system previously. It took some troubleshooting even after removing previous software.
Summary: I really love this keyboared mouse combination and think it is the best I have ever used. The keyboard is ergonomically perfect and comfortable and a new design. In addition the keyboard palm rest is padded nicely. The mouse is unbelievable in its accuracy and how little movement of the hand it takes to get to the desired spot on the screen. I couldn't be happier with this product. Would definitely recommend to others. As mentioned, setup was a little problematic but I can't really blame that on this product. I had a previous wireless keyboard mouse setup from another manufacturer that I had to remove and some pieces were a bit hidden thus hard to find and remove. Not Microsoft's problem. This is a very pleasurable keyboard to type on- it is quiet and feels good to type on. There is also an easy to use zoom function that I absolutely love for looking at small images online. The mouse keys are programmable and the keyboard has so many extras I could not name them all here. Just a great product. Highest marks to this combination.

Strengths: Very accurate and smooth when it's workin, stylish silver color, many buttons that actually are useful, battery life seems good so far
Weaknesses: This wireless set might as well be wired, if you are just slightly out if a 1.5 foot area, then you can forget about this working correctly. Sometimes poor performance even in a close area.
Summary: I'm definately half and half on this desktop set. I must say I do like the silver color, but that does't make a product. I like that the mouse is laser, this does offer some better and more accurate performance over a optical or the antique wheel mouse. It's a little hard to describe, but the the mouse is just more in touch with my movements. The keyboard is nice as well, there are many buttons. I admit that I don't use them all that often, but they are nice to be there. You can access some of the most commonly used items on your computer in one push of button rather than clicking around for it. However, a big draw back of this set is the range it will work in. You have to be very close to the base and nothing can be blocking it or else you will get the low signal warning and functions of the keyboard or mouse diminish. I hope in future release, they improve upon that.

Strengths: Very comfortable, responsive, and high quality.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: This is an excellent wireless desktop set--one of the best on the market. The laser mouse is very comfortable (quite similar in shape to the Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 1.0, which is more comfortable than the 2.0 version of the same). The buttons have a good feel to them, and they are positioned well. The scroll wheel, which offers more resistance than that of the IE 2.0, is improved over previous Microsoft offerings. As for the new laser sensor, it is quite nice, and certainly an improvement over the old optical sensors, but it would be a stretch to call it a massive improvement. Overall, this is the best Microsoft mouse available now.
The keyboard is very comfortable. I like the curvature of the keyboard, but I can't decide whether I prefer it to Microsoft's past Natural Keyboard offerings. But it's very good. The key action and feel is excellent (better than past Microsoft keyboards).
Overall, this wireless desktop set is highly recommended. The set is relatively attractive, the wireless connection has been solid, the comfort and feel is excellent, and the construction quality is very good. If it meets the rated six months of battery life, I will be impressed. You can't do much better than this.

Strengths: Very easy set up. Good range. Precise.
Weaknesses: Kerboard a bit on bulkier side.
Summary: I bought this combo, in a sale. This is my first wireless set. Had been looking for a good deal for at least 6 months. The initial set up was a breeze. Hit the connect button, and lo! I was browsing wireless. I have this connected to my laptop, which is hooked to a plasma. Now I have a 42' screen! Have had no problems connecting from about 8ft. No missed beat! Mouse design needs time to adjust, but once u get hooked to this, it feels great. Great product.

Strengths: Wireles, lots of functions on the keyboard like favorites or zoom, laser mouse very nice
Weaknesses: keys are too easy to press. Not weighted enough
Summary: This combination keyboard and mouse is great. The keyboard has lots of extra keys for the most used functions like email, my docs, keys for playing music, sleep, log off, etc. The mouse is the best part. Very smooth action. The wheel is very smooth; it can even be pushed left or right to scroll horizontally. The two additional buttons on the mouse can be assigned to almost anything. It defaults to a magnifying glass and forward and back using Internet explorer. The only complaint is that the keyboard keys are too light. It takes some getting used to pushing down on the keys, you would expect the keys to be heavier. But other than that, this is a great product. I highly recommend it.

Strengths: Precision laser mouse
Weaknesses: Key Labels look as if they'll wear off over time
Summary: I really enjoy all the features and functionality of this keyboard and mouse. The wrist pad rest is well designed and eliminates fatigue. I actually like this desktop set better than the Microsoft Wireless Destip Pro 2.0 I have on another computer.

Strengths: Ease of Installation and Laser 6000 Mouse precision
Weaknesses: Keyboard Keys not as pictured....they're much more transparent and will be difficult to keep clean.
Summary: I used this to replace a Microsoft Natural programable Keyboard and Logitech mouse that I've used for 5 years. I wanted to get rid of the wires on my desktop and get the precision of a laser mouse too. Overall I'm very pleased with this product and the ease of installation and programing of keyboard functions.

Microsoft Wireless Keyboard & Mouse 6000
Strengths: Not sure as I have had itfor less than a week and it has more bells & whistles than I am accustom to.
Weaknesses: There is no Users Manual (Operating Instructions)with this unit. It may not be necessary for those more astute in computers than I, if you are as I, beware!
Summary: The keyboard is not as pictured, keys are transparent.and not as quiet as I had expected or as my old wired keyboard. I am disapointed that there was not an operating manual or instructions to explain what the keys do and how to operate them. Same with the mouse. I may like it once I spend some time obtaining operational information but for now all the bells & whistles are just that, and of little or no use tome! At this point I wish I had stayed with Logitech. The Merchant (Cybershops) experience, from whom I purchased it was the only bright spot. They are very responsive and I would recommend them.

Dissapointed
Strengths: Padded palmrest
Weaknesses: Not rechargeable, awkward keyboard layout, laser mouse scrolling.
Summary: 2006-03-27 10:35:45 The curve on of the keyboard is very uncomfortable although it is supposed to be a comfort keyboard. Instead of curving downward as in the natural position of your fingers, it curves upward making it awkward to type. The mouse scroll is smooth which personally I do not like.

ok mouse
Strengths: looks nice, feels ok, tracks smoothly while I am using it
Weaknesses: I didn't like the wheel -- it felt a little small and doesn't have the "click" that other mice wheels have. Also, the mouse overall felt a little bit small
Summary: A nice small compact mouse for those people who are on the go an travel a good deal. The wireless RF receiver clips nicely into the bottom of the mouse for storage.
However, being used to full size mice, this just felt a little too small for my liking, and also I didn't like the way the wheel felt -- there is no click. Also the wheel is quite small.
Nonetheless, it tracks quite well, and I had to dial down the mouse speed compared to my regular ball mouse in order to slow it down.

Good price, decent keyboard/mouse combo set.
Strengths: Good price, decent keyboard and mouse. Nice leather-like wrist pads.
Weaknesses: Both keyboard and mouse buttons feel a little cheap and weak.
Summary: I would have given a higher rating, however, I received the keyboard without a space bar and the keyboard showed signs of use as well as the receiver device.

Strengths: Great look, bunch of programmeable buttons, key stoke feels solid, very comfortable mouse
Weaknesses: keyboard is not as comfortable as a natural keyboard, sometime has connection problem with transciever
Summary: If you are used to a natural keyboard, this is not really a replacement. Although the keyboard has curve, I found it feels more like a normal keyboard. The key stoke feels very solid and with bunch of programmeable keys, it is great for everyday users. It feels very comfortable with the shape of the mouse. Sometime, I had some connection problem. May not be sometime wrong with the mouse and keyboard.
