Strengths: Very sharp, clear image; excellent price.
Weaknesses: None worth mentioning.
Summary: I purchased this monitor after reading the reviews on PCMAG.com, and then read many customer reviews as well. This has usually guided me well in the past, and this purchase was no exception. This monitor from HP is impressive. It has a very sharp, clear image, for an excellent price. I recommend it, and would definitely buy more of these monitors in the future.

Strengths: Great Value. HP Brand Name. Works well for general office use.
Weaknesses: None Found. (Have not used for gaming.)
Summary: Bought this for general office use. The monitor is easy to read and the auto adjust works well. Am buying more of these while rebate is in effect.

Strengths: Great picture, quality , and price
Weaknesses: None
Summary: The set up was a snap. The price along with the rebate was unbeatable. I went to several local stores and found nothing within my budget. I saw this baby and hopped right on it. Plus,it's still name brand.

 HP L1706 LCD Strengths: Contrast ratio @ 500:1 could be higher. but this is a analog monitor and serve quite well with my spare PC in my guest room.
Weaknesses: NO DVI, this is ONLY an analog monitor.
Summary: I have owned quite a few LCD in the past few years e.g. SONY, DELL, BenQ and Samsung. This HP LCD display is decent at best. For the price I paid for I don't expect supreb quality. If you are looking for somethhing for casual use, and don't need DVI you can't go wrong with this. Plus, most importantly the LCD shipped with NO deal pixel.

Strengths: EASY to assemble...honestly, only took me 5 minutes to attach the monitor to the base and attach cables to the PC; good display quality and simple to operate
Weaknesses: No height adjustment
Summary: After having a dinosaur CRT monitor for years I decided to look for an affordable LCD. I looked at the brick and mortar stores near my home but the quality of the monitors and the unreasonably high prices made me look online. I found this monitor, checked out the reviews (OK, CNET isn't warm and fuzzy on this item), but I decided to take a chance because of the home office environment I use my PC for (don't need the latest technology) combined with the great deal I found for this with iUnitek. Yesterday afternoon the monitor arrived and after unpacking, some very simple assembly, and a few minutes of attaching this monitor to my PC, I realized I had made a very wise investment. Definitely go to the HP website and download the support utilities...these will vastly improve the display quality on the monitor. GREAT price, easy install...I'm very happy.

 HP LCD monitor Strengths: out shape looks good
Weaknesses: Color quality is bad. Also, a little complex in installation
Summary: With $50+5 rebate, it is ok because that is $30 bucks cheaper than other good brands. But I won't buy it if I knew its quality early. By the way, I paid $11 bucks for shipping. But Dell can provide free shipping. So ... not a very good deal.

Strengths: The looks, The ease of use & Color
Weaknesses: Have not found any so far
Summary: THis is my first LCD monitor and i loved it the moment i layed eyes on it..
It was easy to hookup and use, it did not take me more that 2 minutes to start using.
I would definately reccomend this monitor.

You get what you pay for
Strengths: Low price
Weaknesses: Display quality
Summary: I'm glad I got this flat screen monitor only for some simple testing. For that purpose it is adequate. I would never want to use it for my main computer, however. Color gradation for video reveals this monitor's shortcomings. Looks like it is displaying at a low color depth when in fact it isn't. If you want a quality image, look elsewhere.

Strengths: price, easy set up, fast shipping!
Weaknesses: none found so far
Summary: i have been wanting a flat monitor for use in my daughters room on account of the small space that we had to put it on. So i compared prices on this site and others and found this to be the best price! especially for the quality of the monitor. It was so easy to set up, i did it all by myself!! Just take it out the box and plug it in!! How simple. The picture is also very clear. i would definitely recommend this monitor.

Strengths: Flat panel display. Clear picture with no dead pixels. Great monitor for the price!
Weaknesses: No speakers built in.
Summary: I have owned an old 15 CRT monitor for years and decided it was time to upgrade to a flat panel LCD 17 inch monitor. I have always preferred Hewlett Packard products and when I saw this model and the price and features I decided to make the move. I am not disappointed
