Strengths: Screen quality is very good. Widescreen. Progressive Scan. Main controls are on the player. Good clarity from all angles. Tons of Accessories.
Weaknesses: Sound could be louder. Open button for DVD placement is awkward. A bit bulky with the battery pack on.
Summary: This is a very good player overall. I honestly didn't see much that was wrong with it. Yes, the sound could have been louder but what do you expect from such a small unit? This is one of the only player around this price range that actually looks good inside and out. Also, if you lose the remote, you still have just about all the controls you need on the player. You would be hard pressed to find a better quality player in this price range. If you are in the market for one, don't look any further because this is the answer.

Strengths: -Tons of Accessories (all the ones you need)
-Great 7" unit
-Screen pivots 180 degrees
Weaknesses: -Audio Volume (I could hardly hear it even through headphones on my flight)
-Dark colors on the LCD don't show well
Summary: I absolutely love this unit. It comes with every charger/cable/case you could want - car power cord, A/C adapter, audio out cable, video out cable including s-video, remote control, carrying case, and battery. Plus, it's a quality brand (RCA). Compared with the other devices/reviews out there, this is the best all-in-one unit I've seen with a 7" screen. It might be nice to have an iTrip to listen to the player on your car stereo during trips, but I wouldn't expect this to be included.
I found it very easy to operate on my flight and at home, but you'll need the remote for anything but the most basic features. You can plug the unit in or use the battery. The battery has it's own jack for charging. The screen tilts to a full 180 degrees. As you'd expect, it plays all the normal audio formats if you'd like to use it as a CD player as well. As a bonus, it does have DTS decoding as well.
As for negatives, the volume did not go loud enough for me to hear during my flight. I've read this negative in just about every portable DVD of this size, so just keep it in mind - it's not a big turnoff. I just flipped on the subtitles to fill in the gaps where I could not hear. In a moderately quiet room, you can hear it just fine. Also, as with any LCD screen, the dark colors do not show up very well. This is not a negative against this product uniquely, but you should just be aware of it.
All in all, I'm completely pleased with this product which I purchased for $140 after rebates. It's plug and play - ready to go out of the box.

Strengths: Sturdy, attractive, good picture quality, easy to use, 2 earphone jacks, long battery life with respect to price.
Weaknesses: Sound could be louder, but works very well with earphones. The included case is not for transit, but to use to hang on car seat (not a feature that I need.)
Summary: I opened the box, plugged it in, inserted a DVD and voila, it worked immediately. It took a relatively short time to fully charge. I liked the picture quality. I would have preferred a case for carrying, but this is a small complaint. I recommend this unit to all.

Strengths: Price, Portablity, Picture
Weaknesses: None
Summary: My one M.V. has a built in DVD player and my daughter only wants to ride in that M.V. So I searched an found this RCA and I love it. It is very easy to use and has a great picture for the price. The sound is good.

 Does not support PAL Strengths: Finish is well done.
Weaknesses: Can be use only in North America
Summary: Unit has plug for worldwide voltage but does not support any other region and does not support PAL as well. I was on travel in Europe and purchased DVD in local store. I was not able to watch DVD.

Strengths: Price (less than 170 $) /It can read any ‘+’ or ‘-‘kind of DVDs and CDs in the world/Progressive Scan feature. /S video /Comes with a Bag for car use
Weaknesses: It does not support “PAL” system. /It should come with a small accessory bag./Sound could be made better.
Summary: I love this product. Above Listed are some important features, which put it ahead of other portable DVD player in the market. I will recommend it to all. It is a good return of your money.

Strengths: price; ease of use; dual headphone jacks; lightweight
Weaknesses: sound volume; case
Summary: Purchased this after reading many reviews and deciding that it was a value despite limited weaknesses. To be used mainly for car travel. Hooks up easily between seats; handy remote. Highest sound volume not very high, but our 4 and 2 year-olds have not complained yet - may actually be an advantage because we do not hear it loudly in the front... We bought another carrying case to house the battery, extra cords and to carry DVDs. Overall, we are pleased with the purchase.

Strengths: All the accessories for auto use at a reasonable price
Weaknesses: Poor sound quality
Summary: As the parent of a ten-year-old girl addicted to videos while traveling (often with a friend), I was looking for a DVD player with dual earphone jacks, the equipment necessary to hang it from a headrest, and the conversion equipment and cord required to run off a car battery. This one has them all at a very economical price.
