Great beginner's tablet, good step up from Graphire3
Strengths: Excellent sensitivity, batteryless stylus, transparent photo frame for tracing, bundled mouse, excellent build construction, extra tablet and pen buttons up from previous version.
Weaknesses: Might be too small for some users.
Summary: The Graphire series is Wacom's budget tablet line used to introduce new graphic enthusiasts to tablet use. It has excellent build construction and is a huge aesthetic and functional step up from the Graphire3. However, for hardcore hobbyists or professionals, this tablet will probably be too small at 4x5. Additionally, if you do digital painting the tilt sensor only available in the Intuos line is very important to capture realistic brush strokes. This tablet has two mappable buttons on the tablet, but does not have shortcut strips that make the Intuos line so efficient to use.
If you don't do digital painting and aren't interested in advanced features, the Graphire series may be good enough for you. Regardless, you might want to step up to a larger tablet size.
