Strengths: Easy to install, smooth feel, small footprint, clear plastic case clips over the tablet to keep it from getting damaged. Pen is very comfortable to use for hours on end.
Weaknesses: Have not found any yet!
Summary: Another fine product from Wacom. Installs easily with WinXP, the control panel allows adjustments for pen sensitivity, assigning actions to pen buttons, mapping the tablet to the screen, and much more. The 4x5 size is fine for using even with large monitors as there is plenty of sensitivity within the active area of the tablet. Has a cool blue light indicating the device is powered up. The light turns green as the pen is pressed against the tablet surface, nice! Very compact design is perfect for travel.
Takes a bit of practice to get the hang of using the pen, so be careful not to accidently drag and drop icons on your desktop.
The tablet also comes with a mouse, however I never use it. In fact I never even use my old mouse either as the pen is much more convenient.

Strengths: I wasn't sure about the 4x5 size but it turns out its plenty big-I work mosttly with 4x6 photos.-But just the little ive used the tablet i can see the tablet will be my method of choise for editing.
Weaknesses: Have not found any thing wrong with the tablet .all i can say is follow directions & all will be fine.
Summary: I run a photo business at home. The tablet is so much eaiser than my computer photo program.I can;t wait to see all the tablet has to offer.

Strengths: The mouse and pen is very egonomic and comfortable. There also is no plastic flap on top to put images under that could be ripped of by children.
Weaknesses: Can't think of any.
Summary: This product works great the mouse and pen are very ergonomic. The buttons on the mouse and tablet are quit programable I can even write my own scripts and have the buttons run them or pop up a menu that can have numerous actions to choose from. The pen works great for fine touches to photos and other graphics in Photoshop Elements. Has a nice hard plastic cover over the tablet that comes off to put something under it to trace. Has two pen holders one lying flat on the top of the tablet and one really neatly designed and attractive free standing stand that holds the pen upright.

Strengths: Easy installation of hardware and software. Basic use of product is reasonably intuitive. The pen makes a nice addition to desktop input devices.
Weaknesses: The included mouse does not seem to add any functional value, but doesn't hurt anything either. Guess it could contribute to a higher cost of the product.
Summary: 2006-04-01 13:15:03 The ability to input from a pen is particularly nice for photo editing, drawing, or anytime you want to input something you would write or print. The tablet installs quickly and is very easy to get set up for basic use. The more subtle features require a little more effort, but would seem to be just a matter of practice, and of determining your personal preferences. If you frequently have need to work on large photos, you might consider the 6X8 format. The 4X5 size has been satisfactory for everything I have wanted to do. It is a good product, which I would definitely purchase again.

Strengths: Very smooth and I love how the mouse doen't require batteries. The pen is very sensitive.
Weaknesses: I think the mouse is not as good. I use another mouse because the mouse is not as sensitive
Summary: I bought this product and I have to say I am satisfied. I love how the pad transfers the power to the mouse so that the mouse doesn't require batteries but I am kind of worried that the constant power wouldn't be healthy but i guess thats the case with all electronics. The pen is easy to use and very sensitive. But I have to admit it isn't like writing on paper. I thought it wouold be like writeing on paper but its not because i have to look on the screen and write it. Which is harder. I would recommend it though.

Strengths: Easily to write down my notes by it.
Weaknesses: When I use Pen mode, it is not convenient to scroll down or scroll up.
The font I write is a little rough, not smooth enough.
Summary: Over all, it is a nice input device. I use it for writing down my notes or drawing some ideas or pictures. It helps my work sometimes. I think it still needs to be improved.

Strengths: Easy to install, easy to use. Include useful software.
Weaknesses: Difficult to do right-click.
Summary: I am glad that I have brought it - I do use it to edit pictures. In addition. I browse the web a lot, and thus do lots of mouse click. Use this tablet makes it super easy. I also like the software comes with tablet, especially JustWrite. It makes things much easier - I just write comments on the screen, save the screen, and then e-mail the pictures. I no longer have to type things down or fax the pages to the other person. But I found it's difficult when I need to do right-click: the button on the pen doesn't always work. But other than that, I think it's a perfect tool for me.

Strengths: Fine quality, easy to install and use.
Weaknesses: Mouse works fine, but I find it useless.
Summary: This is my first pen tablet. I wanted to use it with an 2D animation program to animate some of my cartoons. I am having a lot of fun with it (and so are my kids) when I get a turn . Drawing cartoons from scratch is difficult, but tracing them works great, and saves me a lot of time scanning, and clipping out bits and pieces. You really notice an advantage when you use a paint program (I use GIMP), and can accuratly cut out and move things around. Wacom may cost more than cheap ones out there, but as for the 4x5 model, not much cheaper. And I have not experienced any problems that I have read about with the others. Keep an eye out for sales. I got mine for $75 (list $99).
The mouse is a waste of plastic. I did not find any technical problems with it, but you need to run it on the small tablet. I just use my USB mouse that I have hooked up already. You can run more than one mouse just fine(at least on W2K and Win XP), so I see no need for an extra one that requires the tablet.
Like a reader above I was concerned about the 4x5 size. My cartoons come out that size most of the time. It also has configuration controls that allow you to map tablet area to monitor area (by default the tablet is your screen).

Strengths: Easy to install
Great sensitivity
Weaknesses: Low quality materials
Useless Mice
Summary: I bought this little handy toy for my computer media class. It works perfectly on my computer with either Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Fireworks. The only thing I don't like is the attached mice. I would like to use my logitech laser mice. I really think they should have this mice as an optional.

Strengths: Easy to set up, great software package
Weaknesses: Takes patience to get use to controlling it
Summary: I've read a lot of complains on other sites about the Graphire4 and honestly I don't know why. I feel bad for those who took the poor reviews to heart because for what the Graphire is...an entry level tablet it's terrific. Not too mention Wacom packs in $100 worth of software alone in the Photoshop Elements and Corel Painter Essentials.
I found the pen hard to use at first but once you train your hand it's a great tool to draw with and even to trace in photoshop for perfect knockouts. I wasn't thrill with having just a 4x5 space but that was the size that was in my budget. To my surprise the small size hasn't hampered me a bit, but I'm just a doodler.

Strengths: user friendly, doesn't need battery, very each to control.
Weaknesses: the tablet area is smaller than I expected.
Summary: This tablet is better than the one I had before (other brand). This new tablet features no battery required is a plus for me since the old one I had before requires battery. Sometimes, the connection is bad due to battery low. After I order, I got it within a week. Comparing this and my previous tablet, with higher price, I like this one better.
