Strengths: + Form Factor + Performance + Wonderfull display + Good design, practical and good to look at at the same time
Weaknesses: + No Bluetooth or IR + No built-in Microphone + Toasty hot under HDD when using on lap + No universal memory stick reader, only proprietry sony memory stick support
Summary: I am extremely pleased with this laptop. It is fast enough with the 1.86Ghz centrino processor to get through most tasks, i do a fair bit of video editing and music/multimedia processing and it works fine.. not a desktop replacement but it's up there when you consider how portable it is. I get around 3hrs 30mins of battery life when using an optimized profile which is decent when taking into account the components in use and the bright screen.

The keyboard is a joy to type on although at time if i focus my attention to it there is a little bit of flex when typing on the keys at the top middle are around the numbers.. but not really issue worthy.

I like the double layer DVD burner, and the ROXIO software that is installed. I do not like the fact that you can only read sony memory sticks and the 2 USB ports are on the side next to your hand which means if using a mouse there are cables in your way or usb wireless receivers ok if you have some space but in confined areas it is a drag.

After saying the negative things, and there are a few, i must admit i am extremely happy with this laptop and can live with the problems given the great machine i have to work on.

I have played Brothers in arms: EIB on this at a medium sort of graphics setting and high texture settings and the game runs smoothly and looks stunning on the xbrite screen. For more intensive graphics such as far cry i don't know how it would shape up. I put in an extra 512mb of DDR ram to bring the total up to 1gb making the system more future proof and stable.

I am happy.

Strengths: - Really light weight - Compact and Thin design - Powerful processor - 1 free slot of ram - gorgeous X-bright screen - Double layer DVD+/-RW
Weaknesses: - lack of bluetooth - the bottom sometime gets hot - fan noice (acceptable, not that bad) - battery lift (3 hours, which is, again, not too bad)
Summary: First, let me tell you that I used to have a vaio s460/b, but I returned it because of several reasons: 2 dead-pixels on the screen, ran hot, heard the upcoming of the s560p/b with a new fan mechanism. But, I thought it probably wouldn't be much different in term of the heat issue, but I was wrong. The S560p/b looks slightly different than the s460/b. It runs cooler, and is faster.

The built-quality is fabulously awesome. It feels solid and strong. With its simplicity design and luxury looks, you will find many people ask you about it.

I ran a 3Dmark2005, and it's got a score of 1016 which is pretty good. It runs games smoothly, but with its limitation of a 13.3" screen; it's probably not for a gamer. It's very light and small enough to carry it with you everywhere.

With a latch-less technology, you don't have to worry about breaking the latch (I did break the latch on my Sony Vaio FS550 before; that's why I think this is fantastic)

Wifi reception is exceptional. But the lack of bluetooth is unacceptable for the hi-end laptop, but it's a Sony so I'm not surprise.

The X-bright 13.3" hi-resolution widescreen is one of the most important key which draw many people's attentions. It's exceptional. You'll find yourself in love with its screen IF you are Lucky (you are lucky if you don't have any dead-pixel, but the chance is high enough that there is one or more dead-pixel, so you should look carefully before you purchase it, if that's possible)

If you are the one who wants to carry a laptop with you all the time without sacrificing any performance, this laptop is definitely for you!

But if you are looking for a desktop replacement with a huge screen or if you are a gamer who needs a big screen, this laptop is not for you.

Strengths: The configuration. The size(just perfect) not too small, and not too big. The weight - absolutely perfect. The display is out of the world. Fantastic... Very good looking laptop. An eyecatcher.
Weaknesses: Gets too hot. Hard to put on the lap after some time. The keyboard is little inconvenient. Some basic keys work with the function key thus needs learning/getting used to. Expensive.
Summary: 2005-09-29 18:20:56 Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. Everything is good, except the keyboard. Some basic keys, like the Home, End, Page Up, Page down work with the function key. It will take me some time to get used to this. I wish they had kept the keyboard standard. It does gets hot and cannot be put on the lap after some time. The battery life is not what they claim.

Other than that, this is very powerful machine. I feel proud to own it. I love Sony. Its little expensive, but you wont regret it.

Strengths: Breathtaking Speed for a Centrino Class Notebook. 256mb nVidia GeForce 6400 graphics. 5400rpm, 100Gb SATA hard drive. Beautiful 13.3" XBrite Display. All these within the 4.5lb machine
Weaknesses: Not many - no bluetooth... It gets quite hot after a while.
Summary: I had a Dell 700m and Emachines before but comparing this VAIO against those two, this one is just the right size with much better performance and features.

With the 100G fast 5400rpm HD, you can just store whatever you want (of course don't treat this machine as a desktop) for your mobile work/entertainment.

The DL DVD±RW drive is just a handy thing to have.

I like the size of this machine most.

The eMachines I had was 15.4" WS (Great for DVD but too heavy) and the 700M was 12.1" WS (It's light but screen a bit too small and keyboard very cramp). And this VAIO just gives me the perfect size with 13.3" WS. Still very light (about the same as the 700M) and with a very comfortable keyboard.

At this price, I do look for Bluetooth connectivity but as mentioned, this machine lacks it. Also it gets quite hot after a while and so please DO NOT use it on your lap!!!

Though this machine is a bit pricey but it's price does justify all the features it has in this featherweight but powerful machine!!!

Strengths: Not too big and small; just the right size. Good performance.
Weaknesses: Battery life, noise ( but acceptable)
Summary: It is not too big and small.

Good shape and design.

Everything is good.

Delivery is fast.

But the drawbacks are that it has a little bit big noise but still acceptable.

And the battery life is only around 3~3.5 hours (acceptable)

Strengths: First of all, the size is perfectly the right size either for students or business people. Display screen is nice and bright. Light weight, and it runs fast; smoothly. I love it.
Weaknesses: Battery is last 3 hrs. To me, it's ok/acceptable but it's nice if SONY could make a more durable battery. Also, a little bit of noise (from the fan.) No Bluetooth and the machine gets hot fast.
Summary: Overall, this is a nice machine. It's expensive but worth the money, especially SONY is always a reputable brand. Light weight & nice design from the inside out. The machine runs fast & powerful. Again, it's worth the money when I buy this notebook.

Strengths: It's very beautiful and dapper, and very fit for girls. It is very comfortable when you are watching a video program.
Weaknesses: I think if adding a bluetooth interface is more great thing.
Summary: It's a very good style for me.I like to use it to watch video programs. Its touch pad is so smooth. And I can use the double layer DVD/CD burner to burn some CD/DVD so that I can release more HDD spaces. And I like the face of whole design,it looks very beautiful.

It is only 4.3Pbs that provide to be taken freely.
