Strengths: Nice design, very comfortable keyboard, light mouse
Weaknesses: Old wireless technology, Normal price is very pricey($99.99)
Photo editing software is useless overall
Summary: 2006-03-22 14:46:31 I got this combo for only $20AR when it was on sale last week, and have been using it for almost a week. The keyboard is soft, comfortable, and quiet but if you compare to high level keyboard of Logitech, they will blow this Microsoft keyboard away. The mouse is ok to use within 3 feet. Over the range, the mouse is not able to use accurately. In addition, the Microsoft Image Software is useless in comparison with Photoshop or other editting software. Overall, Get this combo if it's on sale. I shouldn't recommend you buy it at Full PRICE

Strengths: 4-way scroll
Media controls
One touch photo center on keyboard
upto 5 favorties
Weaknesses: Requires 4AA batteries
Doesn't open new windows with the favorite buttons
Summary: Wow! I just picked this up last week and am very satisfied with what I got. I was a little skeptical about paying $70 heading in but now that I've used it for a while I can say it's money well spent. I'm going to be comparing this to the Dell Wireless Keyboard Mouse that I purchased for $50 but I must say there's no comparison. Two different leagues!
The dell is a very solid combo but it was way to simple. I liked the stylish looks, comfort, and simplicity but other than that there's not much else I can say about it.
The keys were loud and the thing ate batteries like a hamster stuffs it's pouches. Went through a pair every month and @ $1 a pair it cost ~ $15 for maintenance (if you can call it that). The mouse had some trouble after 4 months of use. It randomly froze and I had to lift it up to get it to work again. Didn't happen much but it was inconvenient. No photo center, no favorites and not as quiet as the microsoft.
The Microsoft combo is fabulous. It's most stylish, more comfortable and the keys are soft. The extra padded handrest is a big plus (might be a problem for others as it's not removeable). I love the favorties key, but there is a drawback: it doesn't open up multiple pages. I'm still getting adjusted to the difference in key layout but it hasn't bothered me much because it's perfect! I type better with this layout and this coming from a person who hated that! Overall the keyboard is fantastic. i don't know how many people will use the photocenter but with the included software it's going to become my #1 source of routing pictures and videos. I can watch a slideshow with a single press of a button and can print/send/edit also. What a nifty feature!
The mouse is just as good. The 4-way scroll is the best feature barnone! I didn't even know it existed! The scroll is smooth as butter and the layout is great. My only gripe would be the location of the back/forth buttons on the mouse. Should have been placed slightly lower but I should adjust fine. The looks are killer. It fits like a glove and is very responsive. The blue color is an added bonus.
All in all an excellent product. Would easily recommend to my friends and family! A+

Strengths: design of the mouse, curved keyboard with lots of functions, nice color
Weaknesses: Number pad and keyboard is a bit stiffer than I'd like
Summary: I got this Microsoft bundle on sale at Staples so I'm very happy with the price (let's hope the Staples mail-in-rebate process will go smoothly). I love all the extra buttons built into the keyboard (mute, volume +/-, play, ff, rew and this whole set of buttons for Microsoft photo center). I read a review where someone wrote the the F-lock is a problem because he'd have to hit that button to use the F1-F12 keys each time after turning the computer on/off, that's not the case with this keyboard.
I've only had this keyboard and mouse set for a few day but I'm very satisfied. I can't believe I've waited this long to go wireless(the wired keyboard and mouse they gave me at work was horrible!!)

Strengths: + Quality feel
+ Familiarity to previous Microsoft products
+ Comfortable
Weaknesses: - Mouse on the 6000 is contoured a bit more nicely to the hand, but the 5000 is very nice too, so not a big deal
Summary: I have been looking to get a wireless keyboard and mouse for a long time. When I saw the way this one looked, felt the way it typed and moved, and read about others' experiences with it, I decided to give it a try. I am not disappointed. I have been an Intellimouse user for several years and so, being used to the feel, I wanted something that wasn't going to be too much of a change. The 5000 fits the bill. I have only been using the product for a week now, so if I come across anything weird I will definitely update here, but so far the product works great and suits my needs nicely.

Comfortable design, flaky wireless
Strengths: Ergonomic mouse and keyboard desing. Wireless!!
Weaknesses: Wireless connection is flaky. no "Caps Lock" indicator on the keyboard.
Summary: I love wireless things, and I was happy to get this keyboard. I knew it operated via infrared, so it wouldn't be as good as one operating via radio frequencies (which can travel through walls and obstacles). The ergonomic design is great for me, much more comfortable than before. The mouse works great on pretty much any surface. My big problem is that the wireless connection between the wireless device and the mouse gets cut often--even if I'm very close by. There's no easy way to get these things to communicate again--both the receiver and mouse have buttons for reconnection / redetect, but they seem to work unreliably. I've also had some issues where I've needed to make numerous extra button presses, due to a missed signal. I do understand the limitations of the technology, but it's definitely too frequent for comfort. I'm satisfied with the product, but still left wanting for much more. But for the price, I don't think I can find a better set that has the ergonomic design that I really need.

Weaknesses: Read below
Summary: Pls do yourself a favour and don't buy this crap. A total waste for the money. I'm happy that i only paid $20 after rebate for this piece of junk. First of all this thing is hugeeee. And the mouse is really bad. You need to click like 3-5 times in order to open a link on a web page.

Strengths: Works Great, all the hot keys are very convenient.
Weaknesses: The mouse seems like a little heavy for me after long time using.
Summary: This combo is SO sweet. all the hotkeys work perfectly, and it looks great. I have no problem at all with range and it's so nice not to have to deal with cords. I haven't had any problems with interference either.
The signal will be bad when the distance between the mouse and the receiver is more than 2 meters.

Strengths: Wireless, stylish design.
Weaknesses: receiver is ugly
Summary: I hooked them up to my desktop now I think I'm probably the coolest man in town. I can wirelessly control my computer. There's less cords running on my desk now. So my work environment is much neater & slicker. I love wireless technology and this set of keyboard and mouse really help me a lot.
