Strengths: Price, picture, simplicity of use
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: This has to be the best value on the planet! The picture is CRYSTAL clear, even without an HD receiver. I was expecting to have to hook up external speakers, but the sound quality is more than adequate. All peripherals plug in easily and work flawlessly. I can't understand why this model is so inexpensive compared to many others. I can't imagine a better TV at that size!
At $799, it is simply the best bargain going!

Strengths: Picture Quality, Inputs
Weaknesses: Sound, Mounting
Summary: I got this TV before the prices started shooting downward - I paid 999, but I still feel the rig is worth every cent. Gorgeous picture, nice silver bezel (at first I didn't like the design but I have grown to love it) One thing I will say is that for wall mounting the VESA mount could have been made heftier - as it is the weight of the unit seems to put a strain on the part of the case that comes into contact with my Peerless tilt mount. Not a huge concern, but I couldn't think of much more negative. The on-board sound is not great but who wants to use this baby without surround sound home theatre audio anyway? HDMI is handy, I connected my HD satellite receiver and there were no issues - absolutely STUNNING HD picure!

Strengths: PRICE-Amazing Price- only 749
PICTURE- Def can Compete with tvs twice its price
Remote- Others May have trashed it but i love it. its perfectly simple and Uncluttered.
Weaknesses: I dont think it may really be 1366x760- I hooked my laptop up and it only would set at 1280x1024.
Speakers Could Be A Little Better, Not Terribe But Not Amazing.
Summary: I just recieved this tv last week . I was a bit weary when first purchasing it because of the mixed reviews, especially From the really terrible reviews for it. When i first recieved the tv i felt it was nice for the price but i was not overly impressed with it. It was hooked up to a standard digital cable box. The Digital premium Channels were nice but regular channels were just ok. The colors seemed way too oversaturated at times, or too light at others, It took Some Tweaking to get it right from channel to channel. The Contrast ratio i was extatic about though right out of the box because black is true black, not that off black or almsot a dark grey.At First I couldnt understand why my dvds looked great compared to my digital cable. Really it all has to do with the input. I just got my HD box from my company today and seriously you could not tell the difference from this compared to a tv that was 2 to 3 times its price. All the colors on all the channels look vibrant and spot on. I dont have to tweak it for every channel and the HD resolution is Killer, The Tv is so Friggen clear its rediculous. Actually my HD channels on this tv look much better than it does when i play a dvd. you would have to be crazy to get something like a sony that is the same size for the crazy money they are, this is truly great. i give this unit 5 stars because of the overall price value with the feature set and quality of picture you get with a proper input connection. This totaly can rival the big dogs.

You may feel very differently about this unit - and relatively soon :(
Strengths: Picture was great while it lasted :)
Weaknesses: Picture is STONE COLD DEAD after only 14 months!!
Summary: That says it all: the audio is fine, but after less than two years all I have now are fuzzy vertical bands of color!
Let's see . . I paid about $750 . . 14 months. You sure do get what you pay for!

Strengths: Big, Sharp, Cheap
Weaknesses: Glitchy
Summary: 2006-01-17 13:19:25 I've owned the Soyo DYLTO32A 32" LCD TV Dymond Series for a few weeks now and I personally think that this is the best deal out there right now. It's a great TV, and gives a sharp picture and bright colors. I've got my set hooked up to an HD Cable Box and an Xbox 360 viz component cables and they both look incredible. No ghosting, not many noticeable jaggies, etc. It's performing much better than the Syntax Olevia I was looking at (My friend has one and we did a few comparisons). All in all it's a great value ($800). I did have some issues with it though as I'll describe below as a forewarning to potential buyers out there as there aren't very many reviews on this set around, as well as a call for help to any of you who have experienced similar problems and have found some sort of resolutions.
Firstly, the published specs state that this TV can do 1360x768 resolutions. But I tried hooking it into my laptop via VGA cable and the most I could get it to is 1024x768. I was a bit disappointed so I scoured the web in hopes of an answer. The only one I've seen is what is posted in the FAQ for this product on Soyo's website. It pretty much says that the panel supports 1360x768 but the chipset doesn't. What that means, I haven't a clue. They could try to be more cryptic, though it'd be difficult. So I'm at a loss as to where to go, if anywhere.
The second issue is the sound. Although most of us will end up hooking the sound into digital receivers for surrond sound anyway, it'd still be nice to have a set of speakers that sound good as they come with the set and can't really be changed. The sound drops out when it gets loud. It doesn't totally drop out but it does dramatically, as though someone turned the volume down from 20 to 10. It slowly comes back up, but returns intermittently. It does drop out completely for fractions of a second here and there as well. This could just be a minor glitch with my set. Again, this doesn't bother me much as my receiver handles the sound for my setup. But for those of you setting this up in smaller rooms, this may be pertinent.
Lastly, and the most serious defect, is with the 720p mode. For HD Cable signals and XBox 360, both 480p (obviously) and 1080i modes work perfectly. No complaints there. However, when I try to switch either output to 720p mode, it doesn't seem to read. I definitely get a picture, however it seems to be missing all of the red tints, as if the red components were missing, though all cables are firmly seated in the plugs and both other modes work fine. All of the images thusly look green and blue and really dark.
This is an actual problem for me as I prefer to play Xbox 360 games on their native resolution of 720p but can't and have defaulted to 1080i. Now, this could just be a problem particular to my set (which I'm sure it is) so I'm not going to judge the entire product line based on this. I'm currently searching for a resolution to this and maybe Soyo Tech Support or someone on these message boards can shed some light on these issues.
If it weren't for these issues, I'd give this TV 5 stars, but I'm withholding that judgement until I find some solutions to my issues. Until now, it's still a very good product, just pray that the one you get isn't too glitchy.

Strengths: Very enougth inputs, vga, svideo, hdmi, tunner. Nice image quality, perfectly to play games on 720p, or 480p or watch any hd contents
Weaknesses: for me at the moment NONE. just the dvi input is not available, otherwise everything is perfectly
Summary: if you're looking for a good tv with the lowest price of the market go get it without doubt! LCD is the present future on hd definition tv and also considering the DLP tv's are awesome too.

Strengths: price, specs (1200:1, 8ms), lots of input options (including VGA for computers), PIP, bright backlight
Weaknesses: no DVI input..has HDMI, which you can get a DVI->HDMI cable for, but that's more $$ if you only have DVI sources
Summary: 2005-12-03 01:15:17 i disagree with the other reviewer 'dankchef'. I just got this about 1 month ago, and have no problems whatsoever with the picture. No rainbow effect. That is usually related to DLP tv's, this is LCD. Picture is very sharp, no ghosting effects. The LCD itself is made by LG, a well known name, so even if you are unfamiliar or weary of Soyo, you are still dealing with a quality product. Sound quality is quite good from the two 10W speakers, although i had to raise the bass levels all the way to get an acceptable bass output...that is irrelevant though as i plan to disable the speakers and run the sound though my surround sound receiver anyway. It also has a VGA plug so you can use it for your computer..i have tried using S-Video out from computers on TV's before, and the picture quality is bad and text is very hard to read...the VGA connection makes this a great monitor for your Multimedia PC. Not good as a desktop monitor as the pixel size is bigger than you get on normal computer LCD's, so at close distances you see the pixels..plus who would want a 32" screen two feet from your face? :) thats just too big for that distance. The backlight is very bright, to the level that i had to turn it down to 70%, so no complaints there about dim screens. I am extremely happy with this purchase, especially at its price, with $100 rebate. Granted, SOYO has some bad history with rebates (took them a year to send me a mobo rebate in the past, after many emails), but they switched rebate processors recently so hopefully that will be fixed from now on.

Strengths: BRIGHT screen, great contrast...SUPER fast response time. Great standard picture...OUTSTANDING picture with PC or HTDV source.
Weaknesses: Fairly weak built in speakers, average sound quality.
Summary: One of my good friends just spent $1800 on a Sony 32" lcd and he hates the picture. I can't say I blame him, it's really not as good as the Soyo which I paid $745.00 for!!! This TV is quite amazing, especially with a pc in 1366x768 resolution...WOW!!!! This thing displays photos and graphics so well it's going to double as an art piece in my living room when tv is not being watched. The 8ms response time is really good compared with other LCD's. ZERO ghosting from ANY source. (The first review either didn't get the Soyo or he doesn't know anything about LCD TV.) If you're a serious PC gamer looking for a HOT HOT HOT game screen this is it!!! Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and any EA Sports game looks so sick on this screen it'll have all your PS3 and X360 friends running out for a new pc!!!

Strengths: picture, sound, and easy to use
Weaknesses: Not HD, and not a digital cable ready tv
Summary: Electronics are updated in a very fast pace and it will be a very expensive game if you always look for the latest and the best stuff. I am looking for value electronic products for my gust bedrooms, and this has to be one of the best value products I ever found so far! The picture is extremely clear and sometimes even better than my 63" HD set, given this does not have an HD receiver and digital cable decoding functions. The sound quality is more than adequate, though I am going to hook it up to a 5.1 system anyway. All peripherals plug in easily and the remote and front panel buttons work flawlessly. Now I regret that I bought a Sony with the triple price tag for my master bedroom, and I wish that I had looked around so diligently before.

Summary: WOW amazing picture, hooked up to my Cox HD DVR box via HDMI interface for an amazing picture. Also perfect picture via the component from my DVD. Compared other LCD's from all major brands - this one is the best price - performance there is. Will beat most others @ $1900+.

Strengths: Excellent picture quality with no lag, Lots of extra features such as picture-by-picture, plenty of connections
Weaknesses: connections in a very tight and hard to reach spot if wall mounted (would recommend a swing out mount if wall mounted), wish it had an optical audio output
Summary: This TV is an excellent bargain. We have had it for several days. It has handled everything from TV, DVDs, and games with no lag or ghosting. For the price it's more than worth it. It seems, in my opinion, to have better picture quality than some well known name brands.

Not bad but not great either
Strengths: 32 Inch, price, many connections
Weaknesses: Pitcure not great - small specs, dots on screen
Summary: I go this TV for my bed room. Judging by the reviews, and for the $700 price tag I thought how could I go wrong. Well, The TV has small specs or dots that are on the screen. I wonder if this is what everyone calls "grainny."
Well, I and going to try a different connection, maybe S-video and see what happens. The sound is good and the size is nice. I liked the packaging - very protective.
