Strengths: Fast prints, very good qualitiy for a desktop printer.
Weaknesses: No USB cable provided, but you can buy one at Big Lots thats
10 Ft long for $4 so no biggie. Ink as with ALL printers is
expensive.
Summary: This is a very good printer for the price. If your looking for an afortable high quality desktop printer for printing normal stuff and ocasionaly a borderless photo or something then this is the printer for you. Make sure to have a USB cable if you want to get printing right away as it is not provided Have Funn :)

Strengths: Print speed, print quality and availability of ink cartridges at a low cost
Weaknesses: A little noisy when feeding paper
Summary: I had never purchased a Canon printer prior to this so I did not feel very confident when I placed the order. The Canon i455 was very easy to setup and required no adjustments. The quality of print for pictures is impressive for the price and I am very happy with the printer which is used for home and business printing.

Strengths: excellent,
quality photo prints,
easy set-up and installation,
good software package,
can print text as well as photos,
pict-bridge technology
Weaknesses: none so far but I will update if any occur
Summary: I am so pleased with this printer I printed my first photo and it came out wonderful! There are several programs that help you fine- tune your photos before you print them plus it is set up to give you easy access to publish photos on the web or print photos off the web. I am also going to be printing a lot of text- only documents for Bible- study and it has a separate ink-saving mode for this particular use. It also a quiet print-mode(noise reduction so you don't wake up anyone). I am very satisfied with this product and I believe you will be also.

Summary: 2004-02-23 13:50:52 One of the best printers I have ever owned. Price is reasonable. I would recommend this printer to anyone wanting a fast, inexpensive home printer.

Weaknesses: no cable
Summary: There was no cable provided to connect to computer. The fine print on box and in directions indicated the cable was not provided, but didn't indicate what type to get. Web searched for 30 minutes to find out it needed a USB A/B cable and that cost $30. So the good printer was not as inexpensive as I was led to believe.

Strengths: Fast printer; nice document results; photos look better than expected
Weaknesses: Slight difficulty in setting up drivers; Canon's software is very bare bones; expensive ink although you can buy generic ink; no usb cable
Summary: Great printer for the price. Setting up the printer was easy (like installing ink carts/printer head), but when I had to install it on the computer it was a bit difficult. I wanted to install the latest driver from the Canon website, but there were no clear instructions and I could not get the install to work. I just installed the drivers that came on the CD-ROM. I'm using Windows 2000. Could have been a faulty file on their site, haven't tried updating the driver yet.
Printer did not come with a USB cable but that's not a problem since I had a few spare cables.
Documents (black & white/color) look excellent. I was surprised at how great photos looked. My wife uses a Canon i950 Photo printer and that prints almost perfect pictures. I didn't expect the i455's photos to look as nice as they do (of course not nearly as good as the i950, but good enough).
The Canon "Easy Photo Print" software is very generic and has the basic tools to get your photo on paper. It's not an advanced software but it's good enough for simple tasks.
Summary: Great printer and very reliable thus far. If you are in need of a good "all around printer" that still prints great looking photos, I'd recommend picking it up. Right now best price is around $72-$74.

Weaknesses: You must buy USB cable
Summary: Great quality printer. Highly recommended for photo pictures. Not expensive - In page yield tests, ink costs for the i455 were slightly below average: 3.9 cents per black page (compared with the average of 4.3 cents per page), and 11.2 cents per page for color and black (compared with the average of 11.4 cents per page).

Strengths: speed, quality of prints, cheap ink
Weaknesses: had a little trouble with installing on networked computer
Summary: Nice quality photo printer and regular pages print nicely too. Much faster than hp 920 c and the ink is much cheaper.
Only hang up was installing on xp laptop when the printer was connected to win98 desktop. You need to install the driver on the laptop before you can connect to a network printer.

Strengths: Nothing so far
Weaknesses: The color ink is 1 catridge for 3 color. I wonder how long it will last
Summary: It took a while for the product to come. My brother who ordered the same product got it in about a couple of days while I waited for a week. However everythign else is good
