Strengths: Handsome design, easy menus... strong signals
Weaknesses: Needs a auto charger that turns off when the batteries are charged
Summary: I really enjoy these two way radios and they have come in very handy for traveling since I am cell phone challenged. The price was good and Midland is a great brand. Looking forward to years of enjoyment while boating, hunting and shopping with my squeeze at the mall.

Strengths: Rechargable; Vibrating Call; eVox; key lock; Weather radio
Weaknesses: Charger does not turn off when batteries are charged; No backlight
Summary: Like all of these type radios, the advertised range is a joke. However, I am getting 2-3 miles, which is good enough for me. We travel with another couple frequently and these are perfect for car to car communication. After rebate from Midland and Pricegrabber, picked these up for $29.99, no tax, no shipping. Very Happy.

Strengths: Great value, Vibrating feature, privacy codes, 3 year warranty, Can use included rechargeable pack or regular batteries
Weaknesses: Radios with the 12 mile range are large, If the volume is turned up there is a second of static after each transmission which I find annoying.
Summary: I bought these to replace older shorter range radios I have. I primarily use them for hunting, so the vibrating call feature was definitely necessary. Because they are more powerful than my old ones, they are quite a bit larger. They don't have an on/off volume control knob, which I miss. However, if you carry it in a pocket it is actually better without it because you can't accidentally turn the knob. Rechargeable system seems to work good, except you can't leave it on the charger indefinitely.

Overall these are nice radios for the price.

Strengths: Easy to use
Weaknesses: Not 12 miles as stated
Summary: This is a great product for what we need in a manufacturing setting.

Instead of expensive phone systems - these units help our production department communicate with our mill and warehouses. No more cell phone usage while traveling to other warehouses - this has been a very effective purchase.

Strengths: Small, vibration, eVox, rechargeble
Weaknesses: Shorter coverage distance then expected but better than the other radios
Summary: Even it says the radios can work up to 12 miles, it is not that much. If you have any 2 or 3 watt radios, the coverage close to them but a little bit larger than the 2 or 3 watts radios. I found a good deal so in its price range, I can say that you should not miss these radios.

3 Star ReviewMidland LXT-410VP3 very useful on short distance communication
Strengths: Small, handy, key lock, many channels, privacy codes, long battery life, vox, etc.
Weaknesses: a lot less distance than advertized even in rural areas, most of the time I had no reception over 3 miles.
Summary: The system is very handy for short distances like split up for shopping or hiking, and with the vox feature it can be used as a baby monitor (or spying device :-D), it has a lot of channels to choose from with a lot of options for security, very easy to setup.

The weather features desn't work everywhere, the contacts are very sensitive, keylock comes very handy.

It is usualy pricey, but on sale comes to a good buy like $17 for me, it was a good buy.
