 Denon DVM-2815 - great product, but.... Strengths: Great sound quality, excellent video quality, wide range of media formats, multi-disc and reasonable price.
Weaknesses: Extremely poor shuffle feature for CDs.
Summary: 2006-02-18 11:37:55 This unit would be superb if not for one really weird and annoying quirk.
When trying to play multiple CDs on shuffle mode, the player requires the user to first read each disc to recognize it. To do this, you must manually select each CD so that the player can verify it as a CD. It doesn't do this automatically. Then, once random play is initiated by going through a few menus on screen, it seems to only play a handful of songs from each CD causing it to repeat songs frequently.
I know that this is more of an audiophile product, but it is beyond me why they couldn't make shuffle mode as simple as hitting a button. Seems to be a rather ubiquitous feature in the 21st century.
