There is really no point in buying this model just ...
Strengths: DVR- being able to record any tv shows or movies at about VHS quality on a set timer is the biggest plus. Although the quality is not that great, it allows you to watch your mpegs on the road.
Weaknesses: WARNING NOT FOR RUNNERS! I stupidly tried running with this thing and it was bouncing up and down in my pocket crazily. This may be common sense to u but I'm tellin u just in case.
Summary: There is really no point in buying this model just because it is 40 gigs. I had to choose between the AV140 and the AV320 because they were about the same price and i was dumb and bought the 140. Although the 320 is only 20 gigs the bigger screen easily makes up for the difference. Whenever i travel, i find myself just listening to music because i hate straining my eyes to look at the tiny 1.8 inch screen. If your gonna spend this much on a portable media player, you might as well upgrade to one of the 300 series, or the newer 400 series.
The camera on this thing is pretty cheap but for the traveler i guess it is good enough. The lighting is pretty screwed up and things seem to be a lot more red when you play it back. There is sometimes a small but noticeable lag between the video and the sound.
New and better things are coming out every day, so my advice to u is to wait until something new comes out, and quickly grab one of the AV300 or AV400 when the prices drop.
