Strengths: Multiple speeds, actually works!! Priced well for what you recieve.
Weaknesses: Makes a lot of clicking or grinding noises however, nothing has broken or stopped working.
Summary: Bought the SBM-300 from pricegrabber, versus lower-end model in Wal-Mart. Great: The shiatsu massaging works very well. Simply pressing power then Demo mode will take you through a pretty good routine. The massager works deep, if you let it. This model comes with an optional cover to soften the massaging if desired. It is built in and looks like a large black flap. Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don't Primary use, whenever I get a twinge of soreness in my back. I have had several back problems in the past finding out through my chiropractor [Thanks Doc!!] that a deep massage to the upper back and lower back will help keep me in good shape or help me heal faster from severe muscle spasms. My first real test was a very painful back spasm. I used this machine for about 15 minutes on just the shiatsu setting and was back up and running with in 4 days, a much better solution than the usual 15 - 20 days. I am looking at purchasing another one. By-the-way during this time my chiropractor advised ice NOT HEAT to reduce the blood flow to the muscle spasm. The more blood flow the fuller the muscle gets and the tighter the muscle becomes and the result MORE PAIN!! I was advised 20 minutes of ice in a Ziploc with only a light towel [prevents frost-bite] on my back for 3 rotations. So 3 times of 20 minutes on and 40 minutes off. I finally invested in bags of frozen baby peas and they worked fabulously. I am not a doctor and do not advise anyone to try what worked for me. If you are experiencing back pain and don't want the chemical way of healing (much slower in my case) call a chiropractor and see if they can help. Back to the SBM-300. The adjustments allow for the height from lower back to upper back as low, middle and full. I use the full and let it run at least three full cycles. I find this loosens my back muscles up. 1 to 2 cycles usually only irritates my pain. The roller settings I don't use as they aren’t as deep though this is great for my wife who doesn't need such an aggressive back massage. No so good: The vibrators in the bottom pad under the legs are pretty useless. I don't bother to turn them on, the don't move like the top but they do vibrate with a contact pad for each leg. Nothing special for me, they have three level settings low, medium and high. Summary: Do not purchase the lower models of this machine. You can get the lower-end models much cheaper at Wal-Mart or other stores however, you will not be impressed. I sure wasn't. Spend the extra money on this model and you will be much more content. Found it cheapest using pricegrabber. Thanks for reading and please don't forget to vote. Sincerely, -mpkramer
