Strengths: Quick and easy. This cable is simple to connect and it does what it is supposed to do.
Weaknesses: None that I have found.
Summary: 2005-07-20 14:33:15 Bought a Dell Optiplex off of a friend for my son and was very disappointed when I saw that it had 5 USB's and no PS/2 c

onnections. His current wireless mouse and wired keyboard combo where PS/2. I searched and found this adapter on the net. The day th

at it arrived, I connected it and immediately it transformed his PS/2 devices into one USB connection. No fuss, no muss. Simple. I (

that is he) hasn't experienced any problems with this cable adapter at all. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Strengths: Relatively cheap, if you don't buy from Office Depot
Weaknesses: Cannot hold Shift/CTRL/Alt keys down
Summary: Bought this adapter from Office Depot for $30 (way too much) and brought it home, expecting to be able to use my PS/2 keyboard on my laptop. Being an Emacs user, I spend a lot of time with my finger on the CTRL key. It became very clear very quickly that there was a problem. If I held CTRL down and pressed a key, about 2 seconds later, the computer acted like I let go of the CTRL key, so all my future keypresses did not use the CTRL modifier so I start modifying my code! Bad adapter! I'm ordering the IOGear one, hopefully it doesn't do the same thing!

By the way, I called Belkin support and they said I should go back to Office Depot and exchange it. Knowing what I know about electronics, this was not a manufacturing defect problem.
