Strengths: Pen & tablet is excellent selection & painting tool for photoshop (vs mouse), no batteries (and cord!) needed for pen and mouse
Weaknesses: plastic top may scratch easily, steep learning curve, could have better tutorials, included software (corel painter & nik efx is too "lite")
Summary: This is a good beginner level Wacom tablet. I consider myself an amateur user of Photoshop. I use it primarily to enhance, color correct, and/or manipulate my digital photos. I don't really use the pen & tablet outside of Photoshop. So I actually unplug it from my USB port when I'm using other applications. The 4x5 area works good for me, but for more advanced users, consider the 6x8 (or larger) Graphire 3 or Intous line of tablets. There is a a bit of a learning curve to using the pen on the tablet. Once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to make accurate selections and paint (brush) in Photoshop.
I didn't use the wireless mouse that came with it, since I like using my optical mouse instead. Even though I don't use the mouse, it must be used ON TOP of the tablet in order to work. Make sure to remove the PEN on top of the tablet when using the mouse. Otherwise, you will get confused as to where the cursor is on your screen.
The bundled software (NIK EFX LE & Corel Painter) are very basic and "lite" applications. But they are useful for simple painting. You might find some creative uses for the limited NIK filters. For entry level and casual photoshop work, this is a very good beginner's tablet!
