Strengths: The dial is easy to use. Sets up more quickly than the XM radio I had previously when it is setting itself up with channels initially. Records 45 minutes of audio for replay.
Weaknesses: A bit bulky. You need to use the base to transmit to a FM receiver while the XM radio I formerly was more compact.
Summary: 2005-11-07 05:24:43 I enjoy the sport's stations received since Sirius carries Big XII and other conferences in football that XM does not carry. Sirius has the NFL and NBA while XM has pro baseball (and I was hacked off paying $3 more a month to XM after XM started carrying baseball, which I would NEVER pay for given a choice). Sirius has CNBC programs but not MSNBC, which is a bit of a problem since I like to listen to MSNBC's Keith Olbermann when traveling. College sports brought me to Sirius.

Strengths: Replays Music.
Weaknesses: Remote Control is too small. Connection fails when under bridge or over head roof type structure.
Summary: Overall the product is good and easy to install. Lets you save your favorite channels and replays up to 45 minutes. However, connection fails when under bridge or roof type structure.

Strengths: Great easy to read adn informative display. Lots of pre-sets.
Weaknesses: Sometimes signal is weak ... may be satellite technology?
Summary: The display is extremely easy to read. There are THIRTY pre-sets as well as the option to go directly to a channel.

The rewind feature is especially useful when listening to Stern and you missed a great revelation or sound effect.

Hooking it up at home (you need a separate dock station) is very easy and makes the Sportster an even BETTER value!!

Strengths: It's great to be able to move the receiver from one car to the next, I have all my cars wired up and the home docking kit. Easy to read panel and lots of functions and options. This is a great unit.
Weaknesses: None. Other than the screen can be somewhat of a distraction when driving.
Summary: Great unit. Portability is key with this unit. I have been using this for 2+ months with no problems at all. Highly recommend if you don't want to be buying multiple radio units.

Strengths: Easy to read, Replay function up to 44 minutes
Weaknesses: Bulky. Remote buttons small
Summary: I finally decided to jump into the satellite bandwagon and went with sirius. The sportster replay was the first one to catch my eye. The color, look and price was very attractive. Activation and installation was a breeze after reading the manual. I was listening to music within minutes. The replay function is great when I have to go somewhere real quick without missing anything. Definately look into this model if your interested in satellite radio

2 Star ReviewSportster Replay Satellite Radio
Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: I need to know if anyone out there has had any problems with the volume control on the remote. I have tried two different Sporster Replays and neither one works. Also, the book that comes with it states that the color on the screen can be changed. This is incorrect and Sirius acknowledges this but they have not done anything about it.

Strengths: Sound and content are great.
Weaknesses: Installation by Circuit City has taken several adjustments to get right.
Summary: The unit is small and attractive in the car. Controls are easy to use. I haven't had reason to use the replay features,so I really can't comment on that. The less expensive unit may have served my purposes, but for the little bit extra this one looks nicer, and if I ever do want the replay features they are there.

Strengths: Large display, 45 minutes of buffered listening, wireless remote control, low-profile antenna.
Weaknesses: Buffer isn't usable when power goes out, somewhat large in size, small-sized remote
Summary: The Sportster Replay is a well-done Sirius receiver, though it has a few quirks. The Replay is named for the ability to pause, rewind and fast forward through 45 minutes' worth of satellite radio, which is nice when there's a need to go back and listen to something again. However, the buffer isn't usable once the power goes out. The unit has a nice large display, 5 lines high, though the unit itself is a bit big in size. The kit comes with a small wireless remote, which is nice to use in the car, though the remote is a bit too small for large hands. The antenna is quite smaller than previous versions, so it makes for a nice low-profile presence.

Overall, it's a well-done kit for Sirius radio, and there is a smaller-sized version with the same features and a smaller display.
