Strengths: Great for children, good controls, good graphics, fun
Weaknesses: Easy, might not appeal to everyone, Kiddy
Summary: Grabbed by the Ghoulies is an above average game. It is gauged towards children but it is still fun for adults. The game does well in all aspects. If you have a younger child this game would be perfect. If you don't like easy games, or games for children you should not buy this game.

3 Star ReviewGrabbed By The Ghoulies
Strengths: Great for young children.
Weaknesses: Too simple for adults to play.
Summary: My 5 year old absolutely loves this game. The controls are very easy for him to use. Provides hours of entertainment and laughter for him. This game is great for kids too young for teen games and too old for baby games.

3 Star ReviewGrabbed By The Ghoulies
Strengths: Interesting and goofy enemies, easy controls
Weaknesses: Very repetitive
Summary: Grabbed By The Ghoulies puts you in the role of Cooper, a teenage boy that has to save his girlfriend from a haunted mansion. The game has an interesting setup where each room that you go in has a specific goal that must be met in order to move on to the next room. These goals start off rather simple with you just beating up all the enemies in the room. The rest of the game is really just a variation on this one simple goal. There are just more restrictions on how you must beat the enemies as you progress. For instance, you come across levels where you can only use weapons to defeat enemies or levels where you must only defeat enemies of a certain type.

There are plenty of wacky weapons to use in this game (hamburgers, soda pop guns, etc) and a lot of objects to either pick up or break. The levels offer quite a bit of interaction and this allows for a surprising amount of exploration for small rooms. There is only one hidden item per room, a book that unlocks mini-games, but there are a lot of power-ups to find as well.

These power-ups range from invisibility to having little mini-Coopers (the character, not the cars) that help you in battle. Like a lot of the levels in the game, the power-ups are all time based and do not carry over into the next rooms.

The controls are mainly regulated to the two analog sticks with the left stick used for movement and the right stick used for attacks. It's a simple control scheme that works pretty well for the most part. It can get pretty repetitive after a while though.

The graphics are decent and offer the perfect cartoon atmosphere that the game is shooting for. The soundtrack also is perfectly acceptable for a game like this.

Overall, Grabbed By The Ghoulies is a good game, but it is rather short and can get surprisingly difficult in some places. I think this game is worth playing through once, but there's not much replay value.

3 Star ReviewGrabbed by the Ghoulies is an action/adventure gam ...
Strengths: Graphics have a unique style, decent sound effects/music, and pretty solid title for the kids on a system that doesn't have many childrens games.
Weaknesses: Controls are a bit off, Graphics may be to childish for some, and too many timed stages.
Summary: Grabbed by the Ghoulies is an action/adventure game for XBOX. You play as a kid who just had his girl kidnapped from him. You have to go through this mansion to rescue her and do other things. There is no jump button in this game. All there is are a bunch of attacks using the right analog stick. Whichever direction you aim is where you hit. You can also pickup weapons or special items to attck the enemies with. The big problem with this game is that the control scheme doesn't work to well and there are too many timed stages. Yet, if you have kids this is something that will keep them distracted for a while.

Give the game 3 stars if you are looking for an action/adventure game for XBOX and 4 stars if you have kids that need a game for their XBOX.

3 Star ReviewGrabbed by the Ghoulies is developer Rare's first ...
Strengths: Decent voice acting and graphics, enjoyable premise
Weaknesses: Action could get repetitive for more experienced game players
Summary: Grabbed by the Ghoulies is developer Rare's first entry on Microsoft's Xbox game system. It is akin to an old school beat em up - you go through room to room fighting skeletons, zombies, and the like, using everything in the environment to your advantage.

While the gameplay got stale for me, I will agree with the previous reviewer that my girlfriend got a real kick out of this game. She dosen't play many games, and this seemed to be right up her alley in terms of difficulty.

I believe it would make a good game for the family.

3 Star ReviewGrabbed by the Ghoulies is odd because it can be b ...
Strengths: Great graphics and presentation, odd humor
Weaknesses: Repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition
Summary: Grabbed by the Ghoulies is odd because it can be both brilliant and mediocre.

The presentation is top notch and is what we come to expect from Rare. As you venture forth into each new room, your dealing with different enemies in new ways. Like most Rare games though, it goes overboard on having you do the same thing, exposing you to repetitive gameplay that feels like filler designed to artificially lengthen the game.

But when it's good, it's really good and I love the ‘silent movie’ presentation and humor. I can see this game becoming a cult classic in the future.

Strengths: Good humor
Weaknesses: Gets kind of old, fast
Summary: You need to have a strange sense of humor to enjoy this game. It is kind of funny...My girlfriend got a kick out of it and still plays it. However I got bored of it rather quickly. The controls and camera angles were kind of messed up, in a hard to explain way. It is a kind of challenging game though. Well worth it if it'll make your girlfriend happy. =)
