1 Star ReviewNo power!
Strengths: For the first three months it seemed to work fine. Even the audio seemed okay. I was unimpressed with the picture quality but it fine for the price.
Weaknesses: Color was a bit out of whack when we first bought but after messing around for a bit it came thru nicely.
Summary: Well, I'm 6 days shy of my 3 months parts and labor. I just went to turn the TV on and the green power light comes on for about 2-3 seconds and goes right back to the red standby light. Not picture or anything comes on either.

3 Star ReviewNice TV I have it mounted over the gas fireplace w ...
Strengths: nice appearence, cartoon colors are great, works well with cable box on HD channels. low cost for plasma,
Weaknesses: very grainy up close like looking thru a screen door, also blacks seem to shadow.
Summary: Nice TV I have it mounted over the gas fireplace with a distance of approx 15ft from my bed. which gives great much needed viewing distance. I would not be happy if this was in my livingroom with 6ft from a couch, much to grainy of a picture. not great on angles either. would not purchase a ED again.

Strengths: progressive scan dvds look great. Price is king. Let face it HDTV has not been determined 720 or 1080 also alot of the stuff is upgraded and not true HDTV. I will go HD when movies are filmed in HD
Weaknesses: regular broadcast on zoom look grainy, recommend wide mode
Summary: 2006-09-25 09:40:02 if possible connect via component connection to get best picture. Have mine over fireplace since March and it gets used allot by the kids I say about 3-5 hours during the week and longer over the weekend. sound is fine but since speakers are not directed frontward sounds distant. I have sat TV and use I think is wide mode which is part stretch and part zoom. zoom looks to grainy. and I just use stretch for DVDs.

1 Star ReviewDon't buy Sylvania--it will break just after a year!
Strengths: cheap--but ends up breaking and costing more in the end.
Weaknesses: breaks. Power supply issues.
Summary: Read the "no power" post above. I came across it when I googled power supply problems because my TV just broke after 15 months and it seems that I'm not alone here and that Sylvania just stinks. We were happy with our TV for about a year because we got such a good price, but now we need to either cough up another 3 hundred + dollars or get a new set. We will probably opt for the latter. I'm so done with this company. I guess you get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

Strengths: -Looks great. -Reasonable price. -Easy set up. -Excellent documentation.
Weaknesses: -Many inputs are inconveniently located at the bottom of the set.
Summary: This is my first flat screen purchase. I researched

the issue and decided to go with a monitor, ED vs HDTV, and

plasma. I found this model to be reasonably priced and

working quite well.

3 Star ReviewIts all about value
Strengths: Video display quality
Weaknesses: Lousy audio quality. Inconveivably bad remote control. Some pixelation
Summary: Overall, this plasma TV gives you very nice bang for the buck. The video display is about average for an EDTV plasma, while its price is on the far low end of the spectrum. There is some pixelation seen at times while watching standard television through a digital cable box. DVD player hooked up with component cables comes out very nice actually.

Out of the box, the tint, contrast, sharpness, and color settings were pretty out of wack. It took some adjusting, but a nice equilibrium was finally reached.

There are very few bells and whistles here. First and foremost, audio quality from the monitor alone is not good. You will need to output the sound to a receiver and some decent speakers. Additionally, the remote that comes with this television, while functional, would have been pretty sad if it was manufacturered 30 years ago. I have seen children's toys with nicer looking remotes.

One thing I would add is that the television itself (not taking into account functionality) is very nice looking. It actually looks nicer than plasmas that are double its price.

Overall, this is a TV to get if you want average EDTV video quality for little money, and do not care about anything beyond that.

Strengths: Talk about price. You can get this plasama for under a grand.
Weaknesses: Not the best quality
Summary: 2005-12-16 10:55:05 I was looking for a plasama tv for sometime. I new I never could afford one, until this beauty. I love being able to hang it up on the wall!!! The quality is not as good as say the $3000 + TV's. The only problem I find with the tv is the sound. I am always getting some strange noise, I thought maybe the tv was to loud. Even when I mute the tv I can still hear it. It does go away when I shut it off. Now my husband hears it sometimes, but I guess I have sensative hearing. Other than that I am glad I bought it.

Strengths: Good quality picture, Great price
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: We've had our TV for over a year now. We've watched football, movies, family videos and we love it. It cost us about $1200 and was well worth the price, being about $500 less than other similar TVs. It is very basic and doesn't come with many of the fufu features higher end TVs have, but if your not looking for anything HI-Tec, then this would do just fine. FYI- be sure to get an extended warranty on the pixels as they can be costly to repair if they do go out. Although we haven't had problems yet, this is always good advice with new technology.

Weaknesses: Picture took some time to set up and also the sound. But I hooked up surround sound and its great!!
Summary: I got it for less than $500 and I am very HAPPY!!!! for the money. Its better than any other tv I owned and when all channels are HD then I will upgrade.

Happy viewing until then!!!

Strengths: Price, Look, Picture Quality, Ease of Install
Weaknesses: Sound quality, remote, size, and noise from the unit when running
Summary: I have replaced a 27" TV screen with this TV and I am really happy with the quality of image. Though, I was hesitant to buy this unit since it was EDTV and a Plasma, I am pleasantly surprised with the image quality. Use S-Video connections and component video and you will be fine. This unit was purchased recently. Therefore, cannot predict the reliability of the unit so far. We will have to see. Otherwise. a nice TV at a reasonable price.

Strengths: Great picture when using component cables!
Weaknesses: Picture only so-so on non HD channels.
Summary: After having this TV working for about one week, I am pleasantly surprised by its quality compared to the price that I paid. The picture is little worse than an HDTV. (It is actually an ED TV, but I don't think that many would be able to tell the difference in picture crispness.) My DVD works equally well with the monitor, but you must use the S-video hookup at least. With component cables, it is like looking out of a window. I was debating whether or not to take it back at first, but there's no way now. A good starter set, I say. I'll save the difference in price between this and other HDTVs and put it away for when the next new thing comes around.

Strengths: Sound/picture quality
Weaknesses: Extremely heavy; difficult/cumbersome to lift and attach to wall
Summary: Overall, the 42” Plasma Display meets our expectations. The sound and picture are clear and high-quality, and the connection is also very good. However, we have never used the TV for 3 hours non-stop so we have not experienced any problems with over-heating yet.
