Summary: I had another Mr. Coffee and was relatively happy with it, so I decided to give this thermal carafe a try. If hot coffee matters to you, this is not the maker for you. The coffee pours into the carafe without any heating surface underneath it, so it cools pretty quickly in the thin metal pot. Also, the handle of the carafe has a button one is supposed to push in order to "eek out a dribble" of coffee. You almost have to unscrew the entire lid to pour out one cup of coffee--my thumb is still sore from this morning's efforts! Strengths: Looks good Weaknesses: Overflows, hard to pour, coffee's not hot enough Summary: If basket is not positioned perfectly, coffee and grounds run all over counter making a huge mess. Hard to pour-have to push buttom on top while pouring for coffee to come out. Coffee is not hot enough because there is no warmer. Took it to a vacation home because I couldn't stand using it everyday. Hate it there too, so I'm going to throw it away. 100% of People (1/1) found this review helpful. Poor design Summary: We originally bought this machine a bit over a year ago. Our initial impression was that the machine leaked and that the coffee was not hot enough, so we contacted Mr. Coffee and they sent us a replacement machine. Unfortunately, the flaws were consistent. The coffee comes out acceptably warm, but not hot. The carafe doesn't keep it drinkably warm for more than 30 minutes.
