Strengths: Very easy to use(I had never used any Mac machine before). It could connect very well to my previous peripherals. Fast and quiet enough!!!
Weaknesses: A little bit expensive. also there is only one memory slot.
Summary: I would like to recommend it to all the new Mac fans. I am a new fan but have no problem using it at all. It is amazing especially for the GUI.

Strengths: Small, loaded with great software like iLife, DVI digital input
Weaknesses: Has a Very low end video card which is not upgradable
Summary: I bought mine at Amazon last week. To my joy I got one of the "silent" upgrade models that includes a 1.5Ghz G4, an extra 32 MB more VRAM, and a faster 5400 RPM hard drive. It also has the latest bluetooth spec. Not bad for $435 after $50 rebate (Amazon only).

This computer is perfect for anyone who just want to do basic computing: Internet browsing, email, playing music or watching DVDs, word processing, etc. I would not recommend this machine for more arduous tasks like video editing, even though iMovie is included. The RAM limitations of this machine really prevent this kind of activity if you plan on remaining sane.

Strengths: really small for a desktop; affordable Mac
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: I bought the Mac Mini about 2 months ago. Really love it. very compact design, looks so cute and runs smoothly. Very good for online surfing with the built-in wireless adapter. Bunlded softwares are basically enogh for daily use. To be better, I think it should add more USB ports since we now have too many USB devices. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone who likes Mac and doesn't seek too much computing power.

3 Star ReviewMini but not quite powerful
Strengths: compact design, affordable price
Weaknesses: limited performance
Summary: This is my first Mac, was using PC for over a decade. Due to its attractive price on post-Xmas sale, I bought this little desktop. So for about $600 I had a chance to taste a Macintosh Apple. For a desktop, its size is unmatchably mini, but like other Mac its performance is unmatchable to a PC. Anyway, for only $600 it is worth a new taste.

Strengths: extremely compact, elegant, powerful, versatile
Weaknesses: No Modem, No Mouse, No Superdrive (DVD writer), No Keyboard, No Microphone, Bare minimum system. Very large power adapter.
Summary: First thing off... You need a usb keyboard and usb mouse unless you have a usb to ps2 adapter which will leave you only one usb port available otherwise NONE.

I received an upgraded 1.5ghz cpu and 64mb video memory. It took around an hour to perform a software upgrade but everthing was working perfectly and I even installed frontrow on it. It's a great introduction to apple however it will cost more to do what a typical pc half it's price will be able to accomplish. You will also pay more to get some of the same features.

Some recommendations:

Buy the superdrive(dvd writer) version if you plan to do any writing on dvds as you will save your some grief afterwards. Consider the ministack(usb/firewire expandibility) and imic (adds microphone) as first upgrades. 1gb memory but I find 512mb works just fine.

Finally you can hold off your purchase for the new Intel mac minis which is suppose to be better from word around the internet. Either way a mac mini will be the best introduction to apple computers and I recommend it highly.

3 Star ReviewSolid Beginner Mac
Strengths: Gets you on a mac for well under a grand. Works well for most programs
Weaknesses: Bogs up from time to time, the power cord come out with the slightest amount of pressure and you lose all your work
Summary: Im happy with it. I knew I wasn't getting a G5 but it works well with most programs I use (photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver). Its super super quite, I don't even know its half the time. The power cord is about half the size of the computer itself which almost eliminates its portability plus you need almost every accessory including more USB ports. The power plug that goes into the back of the computer has no locking device and just barely fits in there. If your foot taps the cord or you pull the computer forward at all the plug comes out. happened it me 10 minutes ago and forced me to come write this review to tell everyone! If your going to buy one though, buy it with all the options and you'll be happy

Strengths: It came with more than the specs stated...1.42..I got a 1.5...32 mb of vram....I got 64 mb...:)
Weaknesses: None...:)...well almost none...my wife did not like the apple monster mouse that I bought to go with it..:(..she begged for her kensington track ball back..no problem..:)
Summary: This is my very first mac purchase ever...and I'm thrilled...thrilled...:) It connected to my windows 2000 server based network faster than any previous windows xp install that I have...and I have six of those running in my house....:)

And I don't have to install a third pary anti-virus or antispyware program...again I'm thrilled...thrilled I tell you. This little gem is quite versatile...I threw on mac office 2004, Dreamweaver 8 and fireworks 8..my ipod..and its

still asking for more...:)

This little machine is so quiet...I have too look at the little white light to make sure that it is still on.

I'm thinking of never buying a 386 machine again..because if this little G4 processor is this good...what are the G5's going to be like...hmm...I may have to find out...:)

Strengths: Affordable, small, basic, built-in wireless card, ability to use vga or dvi monitor, cute, quite, lots of features (2 usb, firewire, either vga or dvi), Superdrive
Weaknesses: Expansionability?
Summary: I have never really owned a Mac before. In fact, I am a pc person and usually built my own pc's. But since my kids got a virus in their pc, I was looking for a way to avoid the time-wasting process of trying to remove viruses. The ideal solution was a Mac. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a full Mac with all of the bells and whistles so I got a Mac Mini.

My Mac is the 1.42 ghz, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB HD, Superdrive, built-in wireless card. I am still trying to figure out how to use it but have enjoyed it so far since setup was a snap and it located my wifi network as soon as it started up.

If I didn't have all pc games, I would consider getting a big and more powerful Mac!

Strengths: Size, price, functionality, Value
Weaknesses: Upgradability, Number of USB ports
Summary: The good:

This computer is a wonderful computer for the everyday user. It is blissfully quiet and due to its small size you can place almost anywhere. The Mac Mini comes with Apple's iLife family of applications (iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, iDVD, iChat, iSync, GarageBand) and Apple Works (Light weight MS Office) software. iLife is a fantastic consumer level suite of applications. The Mac Mini Operating System is OSX. I really like OSX for its ease of use, stability and security.

The bad:

An additional USB port would be welcomed and easier access to upgrading RAM would be a plus.

This machine is a great entry level into the Mac platform. If your not in a rush to buy and can wait a few months, Apple will be switching to Intel based processors. I believe the Mac Mini will be among the first to receive the new Intel processor.

Strengths: Small but powerful enough for daily jobs
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Both my wife and I love it since the moment when the compute was out of the box. For her, it is the small size and clean color; and for me, it is the friendly interface and loaded software. With this cute small computer, we can open up quite some space on our table, where a big dell server resided before. This makes both of us happy, since there is no complaint about small available space on the table now. The computer comes with enough software to handle the daily job. This saves me a lot time of finding and installing extra software. Overall, we both are very happy with the computer. (If being really picky, it comes with no modem. Well, who needs modem, everyone should go out to get high-speed internet.)
