Activision Cabela's Dangerous Hunts

Worth it if cheap enough!

Strengths: Very Nice Visually, Very Deep Gameplay

Weaknesses: Sometimes hard to control

Summary: I havent gotten around to fully appreciate this game but so far i have enjoyed it and look forward to getting deeper into the game...you should be able to find this game cheap enough in one of your local gamestores and it should be well worth it.

Better than expected!

Strengths: Interesting gameplay Lots to do

Weaknesses: Graphics Sound

Summary: Cabela's Dangerous Hunts is one of my impulse buys. I decided to take advantage of a good deal for this game and I honestly wasn't expecting much. Of course, however, when I actually began playing the game I realized that it is quite a good game.

The graphics and sound are definitely the low points to this game. The graphics look washed out and dull and hardly ever amaze. The sound effects are almost nonexistant and whatever is there is extremely generic.

The gameplay is where this game mostly shines. It has a compelling career mode with tons of things to do. The actual hunts are very fun and there is a lot of customization for your loadout. The game also plays well with really no problems in terms of gameplay.

Overall, the game won't win any game of the year awards but it is a decent game and for fans of the genre it is a good game. I recommend people who have never tried a hunting game, to atleast rent the game because I found myself very interested by the gameplay.

In the end, purchase if you can find it cheap enough, however, it is only recommended for fans of the genre.

Strengths: Career mode, a rare hunting game on the market, a variety of different modes.

Weaknesses: Bland graphics and sound.

Summary: Cabela's Dangerous Hunts is essentially a first person shooter that takes place in real life North American hunting situations. There are a variety of game modes in this game but you'll probably spend most of your time in the Career Hunt mode where you try to make yourself the best hunter in the world. There are a lot of hunts where you have to be very patient while tracking your target but you have to be very careful otherwise you will be ambushed by another animal. The graphics and sound do the job but don't stand out, which is unfortunate because if they had done a better job in these departments, it would have only enhanced the realism. Not being a hunter myself, I probably didn't appreciate all the nuances that went into this game; however, it was a fun experience despite some of its flaws.
