Strengths: Flexibility Good value Frequent software updates Off-air and cable (unencrypted)
Weaknesses: Is not compatible with encrypted digital cable Cannot handle analog signals Slow at exporting HD formats
Summary: An excellent value for watching/DVD writing from your computer. It's like TiVO on steroids. The included video program guide is fairly intuitive, and makes scheduling recording fairly straightforward.

I especially like the ability to edit captures, and the multiple export options (including HD in both 720p and 1080i
