Strengths: Easy to use. No dropped connections. Nice browser interface to adjust settings.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: Out of the box and connected within minutes. Just follow the instructions and your network will be up and secure in no time. There are 2 ports on the back to connect your home phones. Using my Vonage service people have no idea it is a VOIP call. This is my second Linksys wireless device and the performance/range are excellent.

1 Star ReviewRun, don't walk away from this device!
Strengths: Can build you character
Weaknesses: Will cost you time, money and productivity
Summary: If you use a VPN connection to work from home, don't buy this device. I did thinking it would be nice to upgrade my router, but ended up wasting both time and money trying to make this device work properly. If you have a router that is working just go with the phone adapter. I would hate to total up all the time lost trying to get this to work (and I am IT savvy. My stubbornness prevented me from crying uncle as early as I should have. So if your considering Vonage or any VoIP service, run don't walk away from this device.

Strengths: Easy set-up, sleek case color and pretty blue indicator lights.
Weaknesses: Due to it's light weight the unit will not sit flat with cables attached. (Who cares, it's in the closet.)
Summary: The unit works flawlessly. Very easy to set-up. I was using my old house phone with my Vonage account in minutes. The calls are clear with absolutely no indication they are VOIP. I use this router and a Linksys USB wireless adapter on my PC and get 100% signal strength 40+ feet and 3 rooms away from the router. The router and modem are tucked away in a closet so there is no clue I am using VOIP.

Strengths: Good signal, 2 phone ports
Weaknesses: Firmware
Summary: I bought it to use voip phone calling. It has two ports so I can set up two voip phone numbers, one for receiving calls and one for calling out. Followed some instruction from DSLreports, I was able to modify the router so it can accept any voip phone service providers other than Earthlink. The wireless signal is very good so my laptop can access internet anywhere in the house. One thing I don't like it is the firmware. For some reason, the router hangs up once or twice with red led on every month. It's not a big deal though. I just restart it and it will be fine. I guess the firmware (v3.24) is not stable.

Overall, it's a very good wireless router and Linksys offers good customer service over phone. The Voip phone feature works flawlessly. Recommended!

Strengths: Easy to install, works well, good options, no problems, quality.
Weaknesses: didn't come with a stand
Summary: My old Linksys Vonage router died after 2.5 years. I needed a replacement for that router.

Reason for choosing this device is built-in wireless since I use two laptops at home with wireless connections. Setup was very quick and easy. I had everything working in a few minutes. Wireless works flawlessly. I am happy with the purchase.

Strengths: One Unit - Less wiring from Router to Phone Adapter - with Vonage service. Coverage looks good.
Weaknesses: - Original setup CD was not saving new changed setting, ended up finding default password then did modification of wireless security.
Summary: So far been using for week and looks great. Setting up Wireless router was easy once you know login/passwd. Easy to find default passwd for router from Vonage. Up and running in no time. Restart takes bit longer than normal due to combined unit of Phone & Router.

3 Star ReviewLinksys 802.11g router with 2 phone lines
Strengths: A Linksys WRT54G router integrated together with a Linksys PAP2 VOIP adapter; runs cool; smaller and lighter design.
Weaknesses: Somehow shorter operating range then the WRT54G router; not degraded throughput in mixed 11B/G environment.
Summary: The router is easy to set up via the web interface; but this

router seems to have more problems then a typical Linksys router: it drops connection quite frequently and sometimes the router gets frozen and needs a hardware reboot. It could be due to the integration with the Vonage firmware or due to the wireless chipset this device is using, I don't know, but this router performance is not on par with other Linksys products. Also, if you connect to the router with an 802.11B device it seems that the router "slows down"; you can prevent this if you disable the "B/G mixed mode" setting. The Vonage setup was also easy but the Vonage customer support is bad. This device is based on ARM type CPU so it's possible that you can load a customized firmware if you re-compile that firmware to run on an ARM platform. Overall for the price I paid it is OK but if you want a good router and a VOIP adapter better buy an WRT54G and a PAP2 (both from Linksys).

Strengths: Router is adequate. Works better now on DSL (Siemens SpeedStream in dumb mode / AT&T). Voice quality is great on 2nd port ...
Weaknesses: It went dead daily for 10-15 min when on cable modem (Motorola Surfboard / Cablevision). Warranty is a gimmick! Voice port #1 is scratchy & intermittent...
Summary: I bought the device to replace an augment an aging but functional router. The old router went dead once a month, the new one failed daily, but was likely caused by ISP.

Upon adding 1 Vonage line, the port failed less than a month later, the service was switched to port 2, which worked for a time. Every power failure required a full fresh config and a call to Vonage, but the service was good and I was saving $$$.

After 8 months switched from cable to DSL, everything worked for 2 days then the system failed, another call to Vonage and 2 hours fixed things. The line was finally reassigned to port #2 at the head end. ***Unknown to me at that time the WRTP54G had failed but the rep did not share this fact with me, it was supposedly in warranty at that time.***

A few weeks ago I added a 2nd Vonage line, but after 2 days the line (port#1) was still not functional. Two more calls to Vonage and >4 hours on the phone, switching ports, swapping wires, cables, endless power cycling and hard resets of devices, PCs, phones, challenging the integrity of my equipment and my skills, I finally caught the tech in an admission of the earlier failure but that the product is now out of warranty!

Port #2 works fine, port #1 will give scratchy dialtone for a few seconds, then fail to silence. The software indicated everything is OK, but it's not.

Strengths: Top notch wireless G and Vonage both work great. Wireless range reaches throughout my home on two levels.
Weaknesses: Won't clean my bathroom floor.
Summary: I have this unit in my bathroom closet along with a cable modem and the handset base for my telephone. Everthing works great plus my new cable transmits at approx. 425kbps wirelessly compared to 70kbps dsl hardwired. Great product for a wireless G router plus the bonus of two vonage phone connections.

Strengths: Easy set up, PAP2 function built in
Weaknesses: Cannot use with DD-WRT
Summary: WRTP54G-ER can be unlock with JTAG. PAP2 side of router can be set up for 2 VOIP lines.

Wireless set up is easy using Web interface. Signal strength is strong.
