Summary: Overall, a very compact camcorder with the added bonus of a digital still camera. I too used to carry a camcorder and digital camera on vacations and at family functions, but that process is too cumbersome. Having the combination is the best feature, and its size is just icing on the cake. This camcorder is so small it will fit in your pocket, hence that why this is called a pocket camcorder. For the price, it is one of the best values out there. I recommended it to a friend, and he too just bought one! I only hope JVC will make one with a higher pixel resolution for the digital still camera and one with a video light or at least a hot shoe for a video light attachment.

Strengths: JVC digital still camera with camcorder for under $500.00

Weaknesses: Poor in low light

Summary: very compact camcorder with the added bonus of a digital still camera. JVC will make one with a higher pixel resolution for the digital still camera. The plus side though is the 1.3 mega pixel still camera, hope to make a 3.3 mega pixel.

Strengths: compact value

Weaknesses: low light capability digital image stabilizer almost non existent

Summary: I purchased this camcorder mainly for its size, portabilty and value. I was tired of carrying my big 7 year old jvc vhs-c camcorder and i wanted to update to digital. The unit is compact and relatively easy to use but i was dissatisfied by its low light capability and its supposedly image stabilizer is almost non existent, i toggled back and forth to turn the stabilizer on and off and i could not see the difference. The plus side though is the 1.3 mega pixel still camera is the highest resolution in this price range altough it pales in comparison to current resolutions of today,s digital cameras. overall for 500 bucks i think its a good deal but i suggest to anyone who is thingking of buying this camcorder to try it first in a store and compare it to other brands before buying it.

This is my first digital camcorder. I'm so excited ...

Strengths: many functions to play with

Weaknesses: n/a

Summary: This is my first digital camcorder. I'm so excited to get it. I like its style and the functions JVC provided.

For me, it is quite easy to understand its function and how to use it. Moreover, it has everything I want and it is easy to bring to anywhere (however, I need to find its carring case extra)

I'm so fun to try all its functions. Everything seems to be great for me now and no problem at all.
