Strengths: Canon 10X glass, total manual control, superb menu system, 2.5" LCD, great accessory package, high speed shooting mode, price.
Weaknesses: No stabilization, no hotshoe, only 37mm wide angle with some distortion, weak flash, MMC flash memory.
Summary: At a 300 price point, you would be hard pressed to find as much camera for anywhere near the price. If Toshiba had included CompactFlash adaptability, the platform would be near perfection. Forget Olympus' C-740 unless you want to pay an extra 100 for a medal body. This one has everything the Oly does & a lot more, for a lot less. Total control over every aspect of the picture is wonderful to have. 3.2 MP sensor delivers vibrant colors & good low light capabilities at f2.8. The f3.0 at 370mm is unheard of! High speed shooting at 4 FPS means you miss nothing. Perfect for sports & nature. Thank you Toshiba. I love this one!

Strengths: Very easy to use 10x optical zoom Large LCD viewing screen
Weaknesses: weak flash, battery life could be better
Summary: I bought this camera two weeks for two purposes. First one was to be able to view pictures I had taken, to make sure I had some good pictures before paying for film developing. The second was to take a picture of my engagement ring which at first I could not get a good picture it was blurry on auto focus. But when I reread the manual and learned how to take a picture the it came out beautifully. My original intention was to buy a 5.0 MP but the optical zoom was not that great on many of them unless you wanted to spend $1000.00. For the price this camera gets an A+ rating and I am recommending it to my friends and co-workers.

Strengths: Choice of large LCD finder or focusable optical finder window: easy to use menus: image quality: 10X optical/4X digital zoom: included lens accessory: adapteroverall value.
Weaknesses: Weak flash: a little small and hard to hold for larger hands: included case too small and poor fit.
Summary: Okay, so it's "only" a 3.2 megapixel camera: that's fine, especially considering the price. Try to find another 3.2MP camera with 10X optical zoom (and a Canon lens!) for the price! Anyway, 3.2MP is fine for my purposes.

Also, the ease of selecting dozens of options in the "Manual" mode gives total control of the camera for those "hard-to-get" pictures. While the Auto mode works well for most snapshot-type pictures, having the ability to control the camera for all but the simplest of photographic situations is a definite plus. This thing has more "artistic" possibilities than many 35mm SLR cameras!

Of course, it includes the usual USB connection for transferring the pictures to your computer, and it also includes the needed USB cable. Also, it comes with a video/audio cable, wich conveniently allows you to hook the camera up to a TV and view your pictures on it, or record the movie files you've taken (I did mention this thing does movies with sound, didn't I?) directly to a VCR tape or other media. Lots of possibilities here....

All in all, I'm happy with this camera. It suits my needs, and while I could probably have gotten cameras with more pixels (I don't plan on printing 22"X34" murals!) and features this one doesn't have (I doubt I need them), I almost certainly would have had to pay a higher price.

For the money, this camera is hard to beat.

Strengths: ease of use, ability to point and shoot without reading manual first.
Weaknesses: bulky, ill fitting case, software. AC adapter NOT included
Summary: i wanted to write this review on my first impressions. reason being that if i can use an item out of box, i will continue to use it.

took me about 2.5 minutes to take my first picture. 2 minutes of that was putting the batteries in.

i wish that this could use flash mem, or connect to my pda or cell phone. that would of made this item perfect. other than that, im really pleased with the product. lack of manufacturer warrenty is weak though. i thought i was seeing things when i went to toshiba site to confirm this.

sounds like im bashing it, but really everything else about it is great!

got mine on sale for 199.95, so ill stick my complaints in the drawer with the reciept.

Strengths: Large LCD viewer, Electronic viewer, 10 X telephoto Canon lense, remote self timer, fast recycle time (6 exposures in 10 seconds), price, picture quality.
Weaknesses: A 3.2 mega pixle sensor, plastic body and a some what weak flash
Summary: I was on the verge of buying an Olympus C-740 when I saw this camera. The large 2.5 LCD and Canon 10 X lens caught my attention. The quality is high. The battery terminal inside the battery door is GOLD plated. Going from auto mode to manual mode is easy as turning a knob. A flick of a button gives all exposure info on any pix you have taken. Picture quality is high and recycle time is fast. I took 6 pix in about 10 seconds. I had to send the camera, less all accessories, back to Toshiba Exchange because the internal battery was bad. They sent me a new camera package, when all they had to do was just replace the camera, so now I have two of everything! Unless you demand a 4 or 5 mega pixel camera or a metal body, give it a look.
