Strengths: well-built, large interior relative to external dimensions, preset cooking options
Weaknesses: None
Summary: This microwave is very well built, has a large interior relative to its external dimensions, and has enough bells and whistles to make it more than functional. It’s constructed of sturdy material—not the flimsy plastic that you usually see. This was an important point for me. My last microwave lasted nearly 20 years and I’m hoping this one will do the same!

One of the features I like best is the auto defrost—press once if you are defrosting ground meat, twice for poultry, three times for steaks /chops and then enter the weight in tenths of a pound. The Auto defrost option is not for people who are in a big hurry, though, because you need to let the meat stand for 2-20 min after microwave shuts off to give the meat time to fully defrost. But it’s worth the wait because the meat thaws without cooking the edges!

I don’t ordinarily cook complete meals with a microwave, but I have used this one to successfully to steam vegetables, bake potatoes and, of course, pop popcorn. You can use pre-programmed sequences for all of this plus there are many more options. The manual is set up in table form and really easy to refer back to if you forget the times and power settings.

I would definitely recommend this microwave, especially for people with small kitchens. If you place it cattycorner it leaves enough space in front for a dinner plate or mug of coffee.

3 Star ReviewLMAB1240ST Countertop Microwave (1.2 Cu. Ft., Stainless Steel)
Strengths: Clear digital readout. Intuitive to use.
Weaknesses: Hard to press buttons (the back of the toaster must rest against a wall or it will slide as a button is depressed. To get 30 minutes, for example, you must press the minute button 30 times.
Summary: I wasn't used to a digital toaster, let alone one whose buttons had to be pressed very hard. But I have gotten used to it and I now like the toaster. It is a good value for the price as well.

Strengths: + Excellent power range (1,200 watts) for a mid-sized microwave + Nice stainless steel matte finish + Easy to read controls
Weaknesses: - Turntable base seems flimsy; question if stable enough to handle heavier dishes without tipping
Summary: By far, the best looking and performing mid-sized microwave out there. Excellent build-quality and high quality materials throughout; lesser models tend to look cheap and feel plastic. Good value. This model has more than sufficient power to satisfy all types of users from college students to restaurateurs and everyone in between.

Strengths: 1200 watts and 1.2 ft are nice compare to many microwaves on the market at the reasonable price. The the most powerful and roomy, but ok for family use
Weaknesses: Only 1 yr manufacturer warranty, nice if 3 yrs heavy and takes alot of space on the kitchen counter
Summary: overall with the price i paid for, i will buy it again.

Strengths: Sleek styling, mid-size fits nicely on counter, pre-settings are handy and functional
Weaknesses: No sensor cooking
Summary: The LG is economical and very stylish. The smaller mid-size takes up less counter space without giving up a lot of features like the presetting and auto defrost. Compliments my other stainless steel appliances giving the kitchen a very sleek and professional appearance.

LG had the best selection in my price range and the reviews on the brand have been positive; making my decision to buy a no brainier.

Strengths: Looks great, stainless steel front and body, compact in size
Weaknesses: A little loud, have to press the buttons hard
Summary: I have been using this microwave for over a week now. It's very attractive and has a real stainless steel look to it (not like others which have a "gray" door). It matches nicely with my other stainless steel appliances. It heats up nicely and as specified.

However, it's a louder than my old microwave (GE) but not so much that it is disturbing but I did notice the whirring noise right away. Also, I have to press down on the buttons harder than my last microwave also. The cord that comes with it is very short and we needed and extension. Otherwise, I like it.
