Strengths: Ease of Use, Picture Quality
Weaknesses: When flash is not needed (e.g. outdoors) there is no indication (such as audible beep) that picture has been taken. Consumes batteries fast. (Use NiMH rechargable batteries)
Summary: After some research on the Web, I got the camera in

mail order at a great price of $127 including shipping.

I had read a lot of negative comments about the included

Easy Share software under different versions of Windows.

Since I have WinXP, I did not install Easy Share. After

taking some pictures, I connected the camera to the PC

via USB port. It was instantly recognized by WinXP (SP1)

which launched the picture transfer wizard. The picture

quality on the computer screen was amazing. However,

same pictures when viewed on the TV using the included

A/V cable were a bit dark. I guess the JPG to NTSC

conversion is not perfect.

The camera supports MMC cards, but one is not included.

I installed my own 32 MB MMC card and at high resolution,

it seems to store between 32 and 40 pictures.

According to the sticker on the body, its power rating

is 2 Amps at 3 Volts. I knew about this high current

consumption already from comments on the Web. So I also

bought a fast NiMH AA charger for about $17 and a set

of 4 AA NiMH batteries (high capacity 2 Ah) for $10.

So far the first pair has lasted through about 40 pictures

with infrequent use of the LCD screen.

I have yet to order 4x6 prints online, so I can't comment

on the print quality, but so far the camera has worked

great. My camera's firmware version is 1.0. I have heard

of a newer firmware on Kodak site. Is there a way to update

the firmware without using the Easy Share software?

I wish they would add some kind of (audible ?) feedback

when taking picture without the flash, in the next firmware

update.

Strengths: Ease of use is the best feature, Easy Share software is great to use also.
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: This cameras interface with the computer is so simple to use it makes it fun and fast to do what you want. Kodak Easy Share software makes this camera a pleasure. Pictures print great on my regular printer, at first I was going to buy the printer dock but now I don't feel that I need it.

Strengths: Ease of use and available accessories.
Weaknesses: Uses batteries rather quickly.
Summary: 2003-12-17 17:44:50 I like this camera. For the average Joe/Joline, it is all you need. I really like the printer dock, too. The Kodak EasyShare software is easy to use and does pretty much all you need.

Strengths: The camera is very easy to use and comes with many useful functions. The ability to place it on a printer dock hassle free is exceptional. I would recommend this camera to anyone.
Weaknesses: None that I have found so far. Its very easy to use and has more than what I need as far as bells and whistles go.
Summary: Kodak has some of the best products out there. They supply easy-to-use items for those who aren't professional at what they do. The ability to buy add-ons is great.

Strengths: Great pics best I have found good video can take up t0 512mb of memory and higher if new memory comes out can plug in to tv which is great Ive tried the OLYMPUS C150 it sucks compared to the kodak
Weaknesses: None
Summary: best best best camera for its range the 2.0 megapixles are all u need

The CX6230 features 2.0MP for great-looking prints up to 8"x10", and 3X optical zoom for getting close. It has multiple programmed scene modes, so you'll always be prepared to shoot.

Strengths: Great overall value for a very reasonable price. Nice images for a 2.0 MP. Realtively compact, yet it offers video w/ audio, onboard storage, 3x optical zoom, & presets.
Weaknesses: No protective lens cover? Not sure what else to say at this point. Really is a great value for the price.
Summary: I've been using an Olympus 2100 for several years. It's a 2.1 MP with a 10x optical lens. I passed on 3.0 MP cameras because of their limited optical zooms. My only regret was the cost of the camera at the time - over $500.

Now I'm purchasing a camera for my high school graduate. I need something quick and easy for her that will capture images good enough to print and still do some fun things like capture video with sound, etc. (Hey, she can email those video clips home from college - not a bad thing.) For under $150, this Kodak takes some nice pictures and the menus are very similar to my Olympus. It has onboard storage, a decent sized LCD screen, will take rechargeable AA batteries (a must!), but is still basically a point and shoot for my non-techno-geek daughter. (Takes after her mother - mostly in good ways.)

The camera is even compatible with the EasyShare doc system, but you're not forced to buy it. It comes with its own USB cable, but card readers are practically free everywhere these days. I'll teach her how to use a reader so she can conserve her batteries - which there are only two of. That's pretty cool, too. Makes for a smaller and lighter camera - though it's no tiny pocket model.

I think we'll be buying her a camera case to protect that lens and prevent - at least delay - an untimely death from dropping.

I've only taken a few pictures to make sure it's fine before giving it to her, but it worked great and the images looked decent enough for 5x7's, and I would suspect 8x10's. Check out the review on Steve's Digital Cameras, and you can look at some sample shots that are quite good.

I think it's a great little deal. I passed over a Fuji Finepix in the same price range that just didn't quite have the same feature set. I think we made a good call. I've never been a HUGE Kodak fan, but they never put their name on junk. This camera is far, far from that.

Strengths: Ease of use, adequate functions and good quality of pictures.
Weaknesses: Eats battery quickly.
Summary: I have had this camera for more than 1 month and have tried almost all functions of it. I am quite satisfied with it - reasonably good picture quality and ease to use and the price make it a prettty good deal.

2 Star ReviewThe camera has the features I was looking for, pric ...
Strengths: Camera
Weaknesses: Software
Summary: The camera has the features I was looking for, price, ease of use, optical & electronic zoom and othe features that work out side of the auto.

The software(Easy Share) is not to my liking. I wish the camera had a driver I coild use with my exsisting software and I could do with my photos what I want and not what Kodak would like.
