Strengths: Beautiful Design; Easy Connections and Setup; Outstanding Picture
Weaknesses: Singe HDMI Connection & Poor Universal Remote Control
Summary: I researched long and hard before I chose the Samsung 4272. I looked at Panasonic, Sony, Pioneer and NEC. Each has its selling points but Samsung has combined them all in one TV - unbelievable HD picture; extraordinary sound with multiple options; very easy setup menus and connections. I considered DLPs, as well, but opted for the plasma for several reasons e.g., width of viewing angle was very important in light of my room configuration; the burn-in factor has been reduced especially with the Samsung 2 year warranty. And if you register your purchase with Samsung, you obtain an additional 3 months on top of that. And the price differential has become a nonfactor. My only criticisms, and they are minor, is I wish component manufacturers would just not waste our time & money by including a Mickey Mouse "universal" remote. Spend a hundred plus and buy an activity-based remote. My other problem is I wish Samsung had included 2 HDMI connections. Most consumers who will buy a plasma of this quality will have a cable box and DVD requiring HDMI connections. Either you switch connections when you want to watch a DVD or you pay a few hundred for an HDMI switch. Bottom line, though, is I love this HDTV.
